The scene keeps cutting to zone 1 then zone 3

#1

I’m trying to have the scene start by cutting to zone 3 and then starting the dialogue. But when I play the story, it shows zone 1 for a second then zone 3. This is what I have. What am I doing wrong?

INT. SIMPLE LIVING ROOM - DAY
@WYNDELL changes into Wyndell pajamas
@EX 1 changes into EX 1 pajamas
@WYNDELL spot 0.880 154 180 in zone 3 AND WYNDELL faces left
@EX 1 spot 0.900 -16 179 in zone 3 AND EX 1 faces right AND EX 1 is idle
@cut to zone 3

@WYNDELL is talk_doubtful

    NARRATOR
Meanwhile, Wyndell's relationship with her fiance wasn't looking too good either.

Try putting the @cut to zone 3 command directly under your background.

#3

If that’s the last command in line, it’s going to be the last to take action (if that makes sense??? lol). That’s probably why it goes from the default (zone 1) and then abruptly cuts to zone 3. :slightly_smiling_face: If you put it under your background name, there shouldn’t be any issues.

You want to use & for everything before the @cut to zone 3

INT. SIMPLE LIVING ROOM - DAY
&WYNDELL spot 0.880 154 180 in zone 3 AND WYNDELL faces left AND EX 1 spot 0.900 -16 179 in zone 3 AND EX 1 faces right AND EX 1 is idle
&WYNDELL changes into Wyndell pajamas

@cut to zone 3
