There is a { on line 24 that does not have a matching }

I’ve read almost all of the discussion posts in the forums about how so many people have this problem & I still can’t figure out how to fix mine.

Can someone please help me :’(

Add a } on line 23 and one on line 33

Add another line with a } (or add another one on the same line, I think that syntax works)

it worked, thank you so much :’))<3

Wait, now whenever I click either choice, it takes me to skip_episode.

You need to reset the story progress every time you preview it if you use the app previewer

Also, gain skip_episode should be inside the Yes I want to skip it bracket, and the gain read_episode should be inside the Yes I want to read it bracket
Both before the gotos

#Example:

label skip_or_read

NARR
Do you want to skip or read this chapter?

choice
“I want to skip this chapter.” {

NARR
Are you sure you want to skip this chapter?

choice
“Yes, I want to skip it.” {

gain skip_episode

goto end_episode

} “No, I want to read it.” {

goto skip_or_read

}
} “I want to read this chapter.” {

NARR
Are you sure you want to read this chapter?

choice
“Yes, I want to read it.” {

gain read

goto read_episode

} “No, I want to skip it.” {

goto skip_or_read

}
}

label read_episode
#whole story line here

label end_episode
#ending messages here

#feel free to add in the text effects and speechbubble commands.

This code itself will not actually work, because you’ve written it to do something entirely different from what you want it to do. I recommend the following changes:

label skip_or_read
@speechbubble is 155 260 to 90%
NARRATOR
Do you want to | bold , underline | skin | reset | or | bold , underline | read | reset | this chapter?
choice
"I want to skip this chapter" {
NARRATOR
Are you sure you want to | bold , underline | skip | reset | this chapter?
choice
"Yes, I want to skip it." {
goto end_episode
} "No, I want to read it." {
goto skip_or_read
}
} "I want to read this chapter." {
NARRATOR
Are you sure you want to | bold , underline | read | reset | this chapter?
choice
"Yes, I want to read it." {
goto read_episode
} "No, I want to skip it." {
goto skip_or_read
}
}

In this case, you won’t have to deal with gains.
I would also recommend just ignoring the label read_episode and using “Yes, I want to read it.” continue, rather than sending the reader to a special label.

okay, that worked! thank you sm :))
