There is No Planet B

If everyone in the world bought one piece of clothing from the thrift store, just one.
The world would already be saved by a lot.

Sometimes you will find yourself trying to justify everything you do or not do. Ending a speech by saying « don’t judge my personal choices » only proves that you know you aren’t doing things right in the sense or even to you something feel wrong, else you wouldn’t say that.

How is it your personal choice when you are harming the whole earth and by doing so, the people and animals who are living there too? How can we dare to talk about personal choice when we create and perpetuate exploitation? How dare you speak of choice when you are the reason why animals are dying, aren’t you eating them and supporting the industry that torture them by doing so? can you say « my personal choice » when talking about someone’s else life being taken away, be it literally with the animals or indirectly with the people you exploit on these factories and low paid jobs, jobs you could even have nightmares about?
You is everyone, no offense but you can not justify doing nothing or too few by saying « it’s my personal choice ».

Realize your responsibility in this. Stop making excuses. This is unacceptable in this situation. It is an emergency to take responsibility and CHANGE.

You can change. You’re not living in a poor country most of time especially if you have a phone to play on episode and a computer to write on the forums, you don’t need to be rich to change. The fact that you are here to discuss this mean you are not at war or struggling for your life, you have no reasons to stay blind if it not because you are not willing to change.
No one said it would be easy. Things take time, especially changing. But it needs to be done, and the more time you take to change, the less time remains for us all.

Realize your impact.

Don’t think animals are food. They are so much more. We’re animals too. If we think we’re so better than them, we shouldn’t take the right to take their lives away while we have made so much progress and we now know that we can and how to live without harmi them.

Don’t buy fast fashion, don’t buy from brands who are exploiting your own. Have empathy and compassion. realize that it could have been you somehow, you were born in the right place. Realize you have to fight for the rights of those who cannot, you can fight for those who are left voiceless.

Stop saying it’s too late. Stop saying you can’t because most of time you can. Stop finding excuses. Excuses are killing us all. Stop saying your actions won’t make a difference because it will.
Be a model, spread awareness. But do it. Do as much as you can.

I am seventeen years old. I have been vegan for one year and a half. I went against my whole family. I learned how to cook my food. I learned and educated myself on how to be vegan. I’ve been rejected by friends, they wouldn’t hang out with me because I was too complicated to « feed », because they were tired of hearing me saying they could and it would be better for them and everyone to change. I suffer from IBS, a digestive issue, I can’t even eat legumes, which is an important part of the vegan diet mainly. School refused me to bring my meal in the cafeteria. They wanted to silence me. I would never give up on that. Because we are talking about innocent animals, my pleasure is not a good reason to make them suffer. Yes, I liked meat and hated vegetables - could barely eat any, even. Yes I changed, I went against my own self. I thought I needed to eat animals products. I thought the government wasn’t a liar, I thought doctors were well educated on that point. But they are not what they seem. Because a lot of things are ruled by money, and they want and need you to eat these even if it is unhealthy. I changed, I saw the harm I had done and I did something for it. You don’t have to watch and suffer. You can do something, always.

I stopped doing shopping with friends. I couldn’t stand it, knowing about the lives that were destroyed by this. You think it makes you happy to buy a shirt on sale. It does not. You will wear it two or three times and buy another. But the people who made your clothes are saying it is made with their blood and their tears. I cried a lot, and I changed again. I go to thrift shops, I buy second hand stuff or from ethical brands. Fast fashion is atrocious. Don’t support it.

I eat organic, use natural and minimalistic beauty products, buy second hand books as much as possible, reduced my plastic waste. Yes, mom and dad accept to pay. Because I had to explain how much it was important to me. If they refuse then save your own money and buy clothes and book second hand anyway, but many of you are probable already adults. Would you accept to pay a little more knowing your impact would be less, or would you continue buying what pleases you without caring who it hurts?

Never forget that you could be on the other side.

No one is free when others are oppressed.

Aight time to start the Purge- IM KIDDING, I’m kidding! That would just bring up more anger and protests and issues 'n stuff

Well, aside from that.

Just felt like letting peeps know that my city’s going to be banning diesel cars in around… March 2021
But fines could be handed out earlier. =)

I mean, I shouldn’t be that happy since my family owns a diesel car but I’m glad the city’s doing something! :upside_down_face:
Just hope it’s not too late…
But since they’ll be issuing fines earlier, I think people are already starting to get rid of their diesel vehicles! :sunglasses:
