About the heart box: From what you have been discussing, I’ve remembered a detail upon @writingspirit saying it looks like a recent discovery. So we all know that Vera is cold and even maybe doesn’t have any emotions (so they say). However her father did think she cares for Jasper. I remember the scene where Jasper asked Blade if he thinks she’s capable of love and Blade says I’ve never seen her love anyone, even herself. What I’m getting at is: Blade has been working with Vera two years after her father’s death. For all those years Jasper & king weren’t around. However, at the times when they were around, she seems to have feelings. So yes. It IS a recent discovery. There’s either Vera’s heart in that box or Jasper somehow represents the heart she’s been missing since those two are simultaneously present or absent.
Also on Disney’s version, there’s also a dagger figure going into the heart. Yes, more than one thieves have daggers but Jasper’s dagger were magnified in one of the scenes. So if that’s Nylora’s heart then Jasper is Vera’s heart.

And one more sign that there IS a heart in the box:

I also have a question in my mind since the beginning of this story. “Mirror mirror on the wall, who’s the fairest of them all?” Or “fair maiden” has been going around in my mind and one thing doesn’t add up. Vera is not fair. Vera has specifically been customized as rather ugly (?). But a fair maiden is supposed to be beautiful and we know Nylora is beautiful. So I keep wondering what will cone out of this.

About Hunter: You’ve already covered every important detail I could think about but here are some tiny ones that I want to mention.
Hunter MUST be a noble or the like. I mean which commoner has a horse to ride of their own? And the term “steel horse” reminds me of Bon Jovi’s song.
“On a steel horse I ride
I’m wanted dead or alive.”

And the biscuit tin! Someone please please take a screenshot of that biscuit tin if you come across with it in your replays. There’s a biscuit tin in both the red riding hood and Cinderella. But the fact that it belongs to his grandmother makes me think he’s the red riding hood somehow. Also one of the story’s setting is a forest.

Since we’ve delved into original versions of fairytales: I have yet to see anyone mention in many versions of Snow White the Evil Queen attempts to kill her three times, with only two being foiled by the dwarves. First by asphyxiating her with a corset (how strong was this old woman, damn) and then selling her a poisoned haircomb. We’ve already had quite a few “canon” deaths but only one (I think) was caused by anything the queen did. So I’m considering sticking to the rule of 3 theory.

I need these

You guys wanna write part 3 for me?

We can make it a thing. I’ll give you the first two parts of every book and you can finish them.

We cracked the code! Although haven’t got the slightest idea which of the dozens of theories was right…

3 is a repeated concept in the book. The slang “three hells” is mentioned constantly which I assume represents three stages of dying. (I’m not very informed in these religious terms, so correct me if I’m wrong.) If what you say applies to the book as well, one of Vera’s death might be during the test among the flames.

I will see if I get the Biscuit’s Can, I think I’m close.

Me too, sticking to Vera’s heart being on the box, but Spiegel will tell eventually

Oooo also when Blade is chasing Vera around, he says that he’ll cut her into so many pieces that no amount “of the Kings men or horses” will be able to put her body back together. So at first glance a nod to Caddelinn’s men since we know Blade hates them, but I think also revealing some origin info about one (or more?) of our thieves

I think Nylora is Fairest wrt beauty, but Vera represents (or wants to be) the “Fairest” ruler - as in like fairness & equality. So Nylora is determined to get the heart for the former and Vera is dertermined to stay alive for the sake of the latter

Can and others

Now, I have a shelf to shove over Basil

Oh this is such a nice point of view!

Now… is there a name on that can or am I going crazy?

Also, on Vera’s second death which was by her mother, she, in a way, indicates she feels like she’s lost her heart. Like there’s something missing that’s pumping blood. She feels different. Do you think it’s possible that Nylora has stolen Vera’s heart?

I forgot how intense that scene is where Vera is insulting the Bixby family. Of course she’s doing it on purpose, but damn if someone talked about my family that way, I’d turn Blade mode on too. What’s interesting is Blade is always irritated and angry, but he always has some witty retort and oddly specific threat (I’m going to cut your tongue out, I’m going hack you to pieces etc). But all he could say during that whole conversation was STOP IT every time Vera brought up a new person in or point about the Bixby family. Until he finally rrrrraaaaaaggggeeeessss and tells her she can’t judge him because Nylora is the one who destroyed his family.

Vera is about to yell again when she realises she cannot defend her mother and that Basil is right. She seems almost like she’s going to apologize or tell him he’s right or something. Til everyone passes out and he threatens her again lol

Jasper might or might not have Vera’s heart but I swear that ill-mannered blonde has my whole heart. Such a cutie pie grump.

You mean on the bottom of the tin? Very possible. I can’t see what it is tho. I think there’s an opportunity to see the whole can but I forgot to screen shot it. I just had this from capping Vera and Blades interaction at the lunch table.

Also - it’s Spiegel so nothing is impossible. But if Nylora has Vera’s heart already, why not just consume it and move on? I guess she really hates Vera so she could just want her dead anyway, but unless Nylora needs the heart like 20 minutes before she actually turns 45 I can’t see her keeping it. However, it’s very possible that this happens in part 3. Much more suffering is to come for sure, and probably at the hands of the queen. And if Nylora does manage to get Vera’s heart, the magical item in the box would make massive amounts of sense.

She cannot devour it because she didn’t give it to her willingly. But before devouring it, she might have other plans anyway which is;
We know that the test is used to “measure the heart of a would-be monarch.” In order to pass the test (if the test is valid) Nylora will need Vera’s heart. At the end, Vera as a so called impostor may see the test is the only way to prove her right to the throne to make the citizens believe and end up taking the test. However, she may burn since she doesn’t have the heart which Nylora has leading to Nylora passing the test and Vera dying as an impostor. That’s why I said one of Vera’s death maybe in that chamber burning in flames. After Nylora becomes “the rightful queen” as Vera, but still not being able to devour the heart as she doesn’t have the permission, Jasper may come in the rescue and take the heart back to somehow have Vera regrow from the heart.

In this way, Nylora is the fairest of them all in both meanings as @hibiscusgravy mentioned.

Lol jeez I’m an idiot I already forgot about the willingly thing. It would be good collateral. So even if Vera didn’t give it willingly, the queen could destroy it and they would both die which is pretty on point for Nylora. She could also have what she thinks is Vera’s heart (and maybe her real one is in the box) lol. I wouldn’t put it past Nylora to have an advantage over the rest of them. She’s very clever and very desperate at this point. And I think there’s much more death and suffering to come in part 3 lol
