Also when the li slept with some girl (one night stand)
The girl gets clingy with the li
Then the li calls her the s slur (which I find disturbing)
Instead of screaming at the girl to get lost, tell her to back off and remind her it was a ONE NIGHT STAND that’s it…
Then the mc punches the clingy girl and the li thinks it’s ‘hOt’
.
Like their is nothing funny about a punching someone. (Like you can go jail…)
Like I kinda dislike the fact that their is a clingy girl in the story, and the author makes the clingy girl look bad and desperate
It’s funny since the MC can sometimes be the clingy girl in my opinion. Like she will hate anyone who breathes next to the LI and says she is a sl*t. I once read a story were the MC literally got jealous over the LI’s assistant and said that she probably slept her way to the top. I mean nobody likes a perfect character but does that mean they have to be so misogynistic. I also hate when I see a LI think beating someone up for basically no reason is hot.
Like also the author is kinda teaching the readers (who are mostly teens,or even under) that it’s OK to slap, punch hit people
hold on, thats a featured story, how is that even allowed.
I feel the need to explain.
Yes there was no free choice but the story was in beta when I first read it so I don’t hold anything against the author or Episode because it seemed to be a bug which they fixed in the official release of the story
thanks for explaing, I have read the comments so I already knew since you replyed to others, but still thanks.
When authors stereotype every athlete (runners, boxers, MMA fighters, football, and basketball players), dancers, and cheerleaders as cocky and arrogant. I hate it too when the author makes the MC having a weak personality! Cmon guys, you should write not only for your interests to gain a gazillion of readers but you should make also strong and encouraging influences in the community! I hate it when authors portray stories that are also misleading and unrealistic but I am not talking about fantasy stories here, what I mean is when authors portray false information towards reality. I always prefer stories that let readers show an act of forgiveness towards the mean characters and everyone got a happy ending rather than a bad ending.
I mean with all do respect noone’s asking you to use your gems on them. It’s there for people who like the story and WANT to support the creator, if you don’t like using gems then don’t use the gems and click the other option that’s a perfectly fine thing to do.
But due to the new episode criteria’s for stories to rank, authors have to do the support the author gem choices if they want their story to do well.
And I mean that with no disrespect entirely, you are entitled to your opinion. But just the appearance of it shouldn’t be a negative factor against the story.
I hate:
- bad boys
- not giving minor characters a back story
- long ass intros
- when the narrator makes a character that frequently pops up in the story
- super long episodes
- super short episodes
- unfinished plots
- the stereotypical mean girl group
- using black people, asians, or gay men as comic relief
- 3 or less outfits to choose from
- unnecessary scenes that have nothing to do with the story or building up something
- obstacles in the story that get solved in less than two episodes
- good girl falls for bad boy
- student + teacher relationships, that’s illegal
- damsel in distress stories, “boy saves the girl” bull sht*
- not allowing any form of customization
- corny lines meant to be funny
- UNREALISTIC (unless it’s fantasy)
- hanging up the phone without saying bye
Bruh, did we read the same story? Cause this was the entire plot of this “Green Day” fanfic I used to be obsessed with on Episode.
Aside from the obvious grammar and spelling issue, there’s one thing many, many writers do that I don’t like. Add in filler scenes just to increase the length of the episode. Since I believe that you should only show plot relevant stuff, just as with a book, and that every scene should tell something or foreshadow or whatever else. But if a scene is just there to show MC pick up milk in the store, and nothing happens, and it’s never referenced again, then yeah. That’s just a waste of time.
I think you guys have more gripes than I though
Edit: Ah, one more thing. When the MC and LI’s story becomes everything, detracting from everything else. I don’t like that much. Which is why whenever I write, and I decide on having an LI, it’s more of a sideplot than anything else. But then again, I don’t write romance stories. I just like to add a little romance when applicable.
i don’t particularly hate something in a story
as i believe the author made the story that way because she wanted it to be that way and it’s her choice
*also i don’t want any arguments or misunderstanding so i just don’t bother
BUT I DO SOMETIMES GET ANNOYED WITH THT FOLLOWING
- unnecessary fighting scenes
- bad grammar and spelling ( i mean it’s ok to make mistakes but sometimes it’s too difficult to understand)
- super long episodes
- super short episode
- unfinished plots
- not allowing any form of customization
- hanging up the phone without saying bye
I MIGHT NOT AGREE WITH ALL OTHER THINGS OTHER PEOPLE HATE
i don’t like it when:
- Whenever a bigger author makes a mistake they don’t get held accountable because they we’re “young and not educated” about the topic but when a smaller author does the same they get hated on.
- I hate when authors start to get a lot of followers they start to unfollow everyone that supports them or make there page private so we have t follow to see updates.
i myself am a writer and ik how tough sometimes it becomes for authors to continue writing and all but try to stay positive
sorry if some of u don’t agree with me
don’t misunderstand
I agree with you! The authors should portray a strong-willed MC with good heart. They should also learn to learn the importance of friendships and the kindness in the community, because if every person living in this earth learn how to love, this will be a better and healthier place!
THISSSS!! So true. Crazy how so many episode stories glorify cheating just because the LI was hot or because you couldn’t control yourself
like there is no consequences of their actions. They’re so in love, scr*w the broken hearts and relationship ![]()
Does it still annoy you if the reason for no cc is due to POC characters?
Cause whilst I feel CC is great, Im writing a story where the MC is a POC woman, in love with a white woman and dont want to add the choice of customisation or gender cause I feel it would risk whitewashing the MC, I wouldnt get to be as descriptive when describing them and Id have to risk my LGBT+ story becoming hetero-orientated.
I’ve seen no cc as a big annoyance a lot in this thread but its making me feel like people will hate my story or judge it before they get to know it because of it.
not sure if these have been stated earlier in the thread but!
- when the MC flirts or kisses one of the romantic interests without the reader having a choice in it. if this is a canon relationship that’s supposed to happen then fine, but if there are multiple love interests we get to choose from, i don’t like when both routes are forced without the reader being given a choice in which they want to pursue
- MCs having no consequences for their asshole decisions. i don’t know if this applies to everyone but i just don’t like when there aren’t point systems for characters that aren’t love interests, i like having the choice to build or tear down relationships between the MC and other people
- bad boys/girls that aren’t done well. honestly i’m admittedly a sucker for a well written bad boy (like storm from mystery on hanging hill lane, one of my fav episode love interests on the hellapp, also michael harrison from high school story in choices: stories you play), but when they’re all like yOu sHouLd sTaY aWaY fRoM mE i’M a bAd pErSoN and have no well written backstory to explain it, it’s a huge turn off for me
- stereotypes. ESPECIALLY high school stereotypes.
- slut-shaming, especially when it comes from the MC and is justified just because they’re a main character and it’s directed towards someone considered a “threat” to MC’s relationship with a certain love itnerest
- misrepresented cultures + poorly written multilingual characters
- lack of diversity. allowing CC for every other character is not diversity, and making characters POC for the sake of it and showing no cultural aspects is not diversity
- glorifying violence and having MCs throwing punches left and right then describing her as a “badass”
- also, if you have to say that your character is badass, they aren’t a badass
- no moral diversity ESPECIALLY in main characters, that just makes them uninteresting and unrelatable
- damaged love interests that “need saving” - if the relationship dynamic is MC being their therapist, it isn’t healthy. MC should inspire change, not be the revolving point of it, like (platonic/familial example) hope mikaelson inspiring her father klaus, who was previously a HORRIBLE person, to change for the better in the TV show the originals
Ikr
When the dialog is so robotic and not like having a normal conversation.
Long intros.
no i usually keep it like the author but i do like to change the hairstyle, lipcolour, and eyes shape and nose shape
and ofc like i said the author makes the just the way he/she wants it to be
i have no problem
but i usually like little bit customisation
and ofc i would love to read ur story
tell me when it is released
