I agree with you about the author vs reader issue.
If an author creates a character, who is not meant to dress or be conservative, then a reader shouldn’t request that a character should be changed because they simply don’t like it. It’s not their story. In fact, if a character was not meant to be or dress conservative, that is what makes the character their own person. It’s the character’s personality and it shows through their clothes. For a reader to request an author to change them for their sake is, in a minor way, rude. A reader is unintentionally asking the author to make the story the reader’s way without realizing it.
HOWEVER, an author should not be disrespectful to their reader either because that makes their stories irrelevant to read. The reader is what makes the story all the more important and worth creating, plotting, and publishing. Readers are a way to not only share ideas, but more than that like expand your following and create a fantastic community. If an author disrespects their readers, then they become authors that no one will recommend. If no one recommends their story, all their hard work would be completely wasted since people wouldn’t read it.
Both of them could’ve had an agreement on something. Maybe, if the author created a more conservative character in a different story, they could have directed the reader towards that other story. Or, they could add a specific character to show that they care about what their readers’ say, but that will also create a line to show readers that it is still the author’s story and no one can change that. Any idea is better than clashing with a reader and an author about the author’s story.

Blatant signs of SJWism, Anti-Trump propaganda, and abortion acceptance will drive me away from a story quick. These qualities in a person almost indefinitely point to lack of knowledge and lack of regard for human life, often accompanied by bad spelling.

People COMPLAIN about not having customisation then COMPLAIN when there’s “too much” you really can’t please anyone. IT’S NOT LAZY when you have to change all the labels, make doubles of characters and younger versions. How is it showing off? Over 10k lines of customisation then 3k of script it’s FAR from lazy. You sound silly.

Um, most of the people use Dara Amarie’s handy customization templates that don’t require you to change any labels.
Like, would you ever want to customize your boyfriend’s father???

Whenever I have to customise my love interest’s family I usually just keep the defaults even if they look nothing like him 
. I’m lazy. If I had to name them too, I’d probably exit lol. Or at least come back when I have some patience.

Lol you’re presuming. I haven’t even heard of her customisation templates and I doubt there’s a template for TEN individual characters. Therefore the author did it manually. And people literally demand customisation & complain about how default characters so it’s their job to make sure the family members and everyone is up to par and that’s that. Customisation makes someone FAR from lazy it can take hours to make it then adjust it to a story. Don’t be ignorant.

I understand that’s your opinion, but I really hate going through the pain of customizing everyone. I’m not trying to bash authors that do it, but there’s a difference between customizing your friend group and customizing your boyfriend’s father.
In my subjective opinion, customizing your entire friend group is just extra, and customizing boyfriend’s father is just laziness.

That’s your opinion but a lot of people enjoy customising and involving their friends, kind of the whole point of the story, the friends. Side Chick’s never made you customise your boyfriend’s father so not quite sure where you got that from either.

Hey, I have a question for you.
I currently writing a story about a boy who just moved into a new school. And first 2 chapters are like an introduction. Story is from both pov (boy and his love interest) and from chapter 3, it shows their lives before they actually start talking to each other. Will you stop reading it because it will take too long for them to notice each other? I want to know because I just published first 3 chapters and I want to know if I need to make things go faster or slowly…
Also, there will be mean girls, but it will be revealed later that they have certain reasons to bully some people.
I’m sorry if there are mistakes, English is not my first language and I’m still learning.

The only thing I disagree here is the ‘abortion acceptance’ part - because in almost every single ‘Pregnant by the ___’ story, abortion is looked down upon. There’s never been an option to do so.
It’s a touchy, tough subject anyways.
But, yeah, other than that, I guess I can kinda see. There isn’t much diversity of thought on the app, just my opinion and what I’ve observed.

Personally, I really want to see how their relationship developed. I am tired of stories where the MC and the love interest are just suddenly in love without any sort of development or lead-up. I want to see them falling in love. If it happens in 1-2 episodes, I’m signing out!

I don’t know. People are against Trump for their own reasons. For me, I’m kinda sick of people claiming he’s untouchable. The beauty of being in a free country is that you are able to criticise your leader. I think it’s pretty ignorant, personally, to think that anyone who is against Trump and expresses that in a story lacks knowledge as they put it.
