I loved it when I first started but in the last 20 or so chapters I felt it dragged out. I did finish it but I wasn’t really happy with it

Another issues is overuse of text effects. I don’t mind a few text effects like bold or italics in normal dialouge because it can show emphasis without being too distracting. But please don’t have flashing text on every other dialogue box. It makes it really hard to read. I like text effects like colors in the narration BUT again I like it be used nicely that doesn’t distract too much from the story.

I’ve actually had to turn text effects off in a couple of stories.
I don’t mind them, but when they’re excessive it’s definitely distracting!

I don’t think everyone is going to agree with me on this one but when people make stories with weak female main characters that always need a ‘man’ saving them or when they’re just airheads and can’t be independent, they portray women as weak people and it’s annoying like come on women don’t need men saving them,we’re stronger than that! It just get’s annoying, that’s why i would rather read a story with a strong female main character that can make decisions for herself and that can fight for herself. -.-When a story has a weak and boring main character It just turns me off and makes me not want to read the story.

- Bad grammar / no punctuation
- Really bad directing, no effort put to the story at all or having not previewed it before publishing
- When after making a choice, the author decides to do something completely different.
For example, in one story you could choose if you wanted to forgive your dad for selling you to a strip club and even if you chose not to forgive, few days later he would walk you down the aisle and you would be happy family again. - No choices
- No customization and MC has the same hairstyle and face shape than every other MC and love interest looks like a little boy
- When you need to customize everyone with first and last names also
- Needing to customize your MC again after long break from updates so you have no idea what you named your MC before
- Too much cursing and smoking
- Bad storytelling
- Too short or too long and boring chapters
- Breaking the fourth wall for no reason
These are what I have encountered so far, but it is possible I have forgot something.

Too many meaningless pretty words- I have a passionate hatred for these kind of stories.
Their chapters are usually very long stretched and they probably use 10 minutes to explain their character going down to the forest while trying to create inspirational quotes. Who enjoys these? They really misuse the concept of episode, “show more don’t tell more” -
“It will get better in episode 12” - Maybe you should use the time making your first episodes better, instead of trying to convince yourself that people will read til episode 12 for it to get “better”. Afteall, the first chapters is what makes readers captured

- Speaking of first chapters - long Introductions. Seriously, I don’t want to sit through and read the mc talking about her life long story, about how she met her best friend. It just completely ruins the essence of the story and the character for me.

I domt need to know every little detail “her eyes were crystal pools and her dimples tugged at her smile. The Golden streaks framed her face so gentley etc etc…” dont over kill with excessive and pointless words.

Deus ex machina. I hate when things are randomly solved in a plot by some random entity which has only one purpose in the story - to solve the plot point!
I wrote a blog post about it actually. I think it’s really lazy! I think to myself… why do I want to waste time reading a story if the writer doesn’t even care enough to come up with an actual resolution?

Yeah I agree. Or even a good mixture where sometimes the female gets saved but she can still have badass moments and independent

For me honestly, is when the episodes are WAY to short or like under 200 lines (even though episode only allows you to do 400 lines or more). Crappy cliffhangers get me too or if the grammar and spelling is too bad. I get it if you have a few of those here and there but if it gets too much where I can’t enjoy the story, I have to delete it. What about you guys?

The writing style! If I don’t like the characters, If the writing is bad, and If I don’t like the plot. also bad grammar. I feel like I am super picky with the stories I read

I don’t really care if it’s too short… nor long. But, for example, I was reading a story called “RIVALS” and at first it seemed to be interesting but, personally, it’s so freaking long and the way it develops just bored me. So…
I would say that the plot, the story itself, is what makes me stay or not.
