Same thing in Italy. I think in Europe “smarties” are the ones that contain chocolate (or taste chocolate-y idk) whereas the “US smarties”… yeah never seen those things in my life. Actually lots of American candies never make it to Europe. Just like lots of Kinder and Ferrero products are sold in Canada (I think) but not in the US.
