The saddest part is that this author probably coded the whole thing, as you have not shared the template, which means they are clever enough to do something similar on their own (unless someone somehow got their hands on your template and sent it to them?), yet chose to copy your original work.

I cannot. You could literally layer the screen shots over each other and the tappables would be exactly aligned. Even if she made her own, they would not be so perfectly the exact same.
I really hope you get this settled. Things of this measure take so long to create and require so much patience. If someone wants to use it, they need to put in their own full effort unless provided services!

A while back she DM’d me on Instagram and asked if she could use my CC as inspiration, so I said “Yes, of course” thinking she would create her own CC with her own design and layout. I did not expect her to literally copy it and screenshot my images.

You can be inspired by an idea but when your idea looks EXACTLY like what you were inspired by, then you are no longer taking inspiration, you are stealing, which is just downright horrible

Yours was very different! I liked it and when I saw it, it reminded me of @Dara.Amarie own from Runaway Princess. Yours was very pretty and circus like! THAT is what I call something different and not a copy.

You obviously worked so hard on this template, and this author swoops in, going to the point of screenshotting your template, (which is outright stealing), putting your literal exact template into her story, and then claims you “inspired” her?? That’s just fucking plagiarism.

I’m just gonna start off and say that your work looks amazing. Secondly, this is a big issue that has needed to be addressed for a long time, so I’m glad someone is actually doing it.
In the real world, if you blatantly made the same work as another person and call it ‘inspiration’, copyright laws would come into effect. This is plagiarism. This image is a great way at identifying the differences between inspiration and copying.
@Dara.Amarie I’m sorry this happened. It’s a shame that people have this disregard for copyright infringement and I’d like to believe it’s because of a lack of education rather than ignorance. This topic should definitely be spoken more in-depth on the forums because it is becoming a more frequent issue today that has been shrugged off the shoulders of many.
