I am in a party scene and the camera pans across the room but when the camera pans across the room the characters pop up at the last minute and my main character is on the side where the random people is standing but i dont want her over there.

Try this.

INT. BACKGROUND NAME - DAY
&CHARACTER stands screen right in zone 1
&CHARACTER1 stands screen left in zone 2

Or
&CHARACTER spots 128 00 000 in zone #

Also, this should be in directing tips not communication.
