In my personal opinion, I love those types of stories when they are accurate and done well. Unfortunately their accuracy maybe not always be Episode appropriate as some other people have mentioned above, and there are so many different stories that it might be hard to depict an accurate and inoffensive version (again, in my opinion). That being said, I think stories with made up gods and goddesses are just as good as the real stories. You can use so much more imagination, create unique storylines that intrigue you without having to worry about making sure your story is as accurate as possible.
I guess it all just boils down to YOUR personal preference when it comes to writing stories. I’m more of a imaginative creator so I’d go the route of creating my own story. But regardless, I’d love to read some good stories about gods and goddesses whether it’s a real version or made up
