Hi, everyone! I’m not sure if this has been posted on the forum before, but I’ve discovered a cool trick to get in between scenes quickly.
@pan to zone (specific zone) in time less than 1 second seems to work when you have characters in different scenes and you want a rapid transition.
For example if you have @CHARACTERA in zone 2 and @CHARACTERB in zone 3 you can quickly cut to the zone each character is in and carry out a dialogue.
Here’s a basic snippet of my script:
@pan to zone 1 in 0.5
DAD (talk_armscrossed_angry_loop)
Yes, it’s quite alright.
@pause for 2
&pan to zone 2 in .5
&MOM is idle_armscrossed_angry_loop and MOM2 is idle_sit_anklescrossed_neutral_loop
@speechbubble is 175 259 to 100% with tail_top_left
MOM2 (talk_sit_reassure_happy)
Why don’t you get us some coffee dear?
@pan to zone 1 in 0.5
&DAD is idle_handsonhips_neutral_loop
My plan originally used cut, but I found out later that using cut doesn’t work [I think it’s because you can’t use times with the cut function.] so using pan is the next best thing! Be cautious as the times determine the speed at which the zone changes, I found out that 0.5 tends to work out better than 0.1 [which is waht I used originally, and it was way to fast for the pacing of my script.]
Hopefully this will help someone!
