Im going to try and make myself a LL cover but I never have so tips?
what editing app are u planning to use to make your cover? Get the know the app, and practice with it.

no. I only use Photoshop cs6 (free trial), but I want to learn, and work with more editing apps, that I could find.

For sketchbook i can recomend some brushes and i recomend used the ‘copic’ colour choices as for the most part the colours next to each other work well together. They also have really nice skin tones. I recommend using the ‘pencil’ under ‘Legacy’ for outling, preferably on size ‘1.0’, the ‘marker’ under 'legacy’for colouring large areas and the ‘chisel tip pen’ under ‘legacy’ for shading.
