So, I’m a little worried that the MC for my new story might be considered ‘generic’ because she has the defined nose and the pouty heart mouth… and, to be honest, I’m kind of feeling insecure because I posted a picture of her in two other threads and no one commented anything. :frowning:
I’m including an option to customize and another to play as the default character, but I’d like to know what you guys think.

My MC

If you love the way she looks, then that’s that. I don’t think she’s generic  I love the way she looks! Her coloring is so lovely and I think those eyes aren’t used enough

I mean…can’t deny that those features are very lovely. I like her a lot <3 Don’t do what I do and change her because other people might think she looks “generic”. Scientific studies have shown that the more “average/balanced/symmetrical” someone looks, the more “attractive” they tend to be. There’s nothing wrong with that! <3 <3

That isn’t me saying that she’s generic, by the way ^^’ I really don’t think she is. I’m saying if others might think she is…just wanted to clarify because I reread and that seemed…like it could be taken otherwise <3

People overuse those two cornrow braids on white characters. It gets annoying.

Thanks, guys! Yes, I really like the way she looks and I don’t want to change her look… however, if the readers want to change something, they can customize. But her nationality is Lebanese-American, so no matter what look the readers choose in the story, her nationality will not change.
About the cornrow braids, it is pretty much a popular hair style here in Mexico, (at least where I live) but I understand that it can get annoying if you see the character of every other story you read with that hairstyle.

Nobody ever uses these eyes! They’re super pretty. There’s other ways to make pretty characters without using generic features. This girl uses very classic features yet they’re proportioned right and still makes her unique looking.

They do. Just not on Asian characters. On white characters yes. All. The. Time.

Erm,
Slender or monolid eyes aren’t exclusive to Asian people. I’m Native American and it’s very common for our people to have eyes like that. I have slender eyes with a slight monolid, and my eyes are hazel. White people are born with monolid eyes all the time. So you have no right to tell someone they can’t use monolid eyes on a white character. It’s actually offensive for you to say they only belong on Asian people.

Never said they can’t either. :face_with_monocle:

Never said it belonged to asians. I literally have monolids dude. I know that it doesn’t only belong to them.

Yeah, I know you do. You said you did.

I think the point is that monolids are most common on southeast Asians and very uncommon on non-Scandinavian white people, yet they’re almost exclusively used on white, Caucasian American characters.

Yes thank you.
