Heyy cuties! I want to buy an iPad to do my art, but Iโm quite unsure which one to buy. I have had my eye on the iPad Air 2020 model. Do anyone know anything about how it to use for drawing?
What device and model do you guys use and would you recommend it?
Iโm using procreate so iPad only
Thank you in advance
I use the ipad 7th generation with an apple pen, it works fine for me:).
I have the 2020 ipad air!
And I also use it for drawing.
If you do get it, make sure to get the 1st generation pencil because the second doesnโt work with it (trust me, experience taught me well )
Iโd highly recommend it! Itโs rather easy to use.
Thank you! How much storage do u have?
Okay thank you so much !! :two_hearts
I have 128GB
Okay Thank you!!
I donโt how to answer this question but I only use my phone to draw art and I think itโs good I just donโt think I should spend money on an iPad when I could do art on my phone this is my opinion and I know doesnโt relate to your question.
I have the Apple 12.9-inch iPad Pro (2020), iโm not a talented artist, but it works great, i also have procreate and the apple pencil to go with it. (the ipad title was copied from verizon i had to look it up )
As someone on their 2nd iPad this is what I learned. I have and iPad 7th gen 10.2 inches 128gb

Buy iPads with more GBS (128 or 256gb). Procreate takes up a lot of space and grows quickly, even if youโre just using it for art. (I learnt this the hard way having to get another iPad cause of full storage)
-
I recommend 128gb. If youโre new to art youโll probably experiment lot as an artist and with Procreate features as well which means a lot of artworks.
-
For a newbie I recommend cost friendly iPads as all the art related formats and updates are the same for all iPads 6th gen and up.
-
Bigger inches is better, it allows for more canvas space. But if youโre just starting off donโt go too big, or even go small since theyโre cheaper.
-
Iโd also recommend buying an Apple Pencil as even though styluses work they donโt produce the same quality of drawing as apple pencils cause Apple want money, and like designing their products to work best exclusively with apple products. Which is another approx $100 on top of the iPad.
-
In conclusion something not too expensive theyโre all similar anyways, bigger GBs for more storage, Apple Pencil somewhat needed and inches are up to you.
Honestly. U donโt need iPad unless u start doing commissions. It is possible to make art on phone but if u want to practice and get ur skills on a better lvl to use them in a proper way then imo iPad is worthy
Your art is beautiful! I also do art on my phone but I feel like it limits my abilities
Tbh my art is not awful but I want to develop more skillsโ:heartpulse:
Hereโs an example of one of my pieces
Thank you! How much storage do u have and are u happy with that amount?
Oh wow thank u so much for your advice Iโll definitely take that into consideration when buying! And love your style aswell itโs so cute
I have been drawing on my phone for over a year now and want to get more into it. I have done some commissions as well already so would like to do more. but thank u
iโm not actually sureโฆ Iโll find out for you : )
