To all artists, need your opinion! ๐Ÿ’•

Heyy cuties! I want to buy an iPad to do my art, but Iโ€™m quite unsure which one to buy. I have had my eye on the iPad Air 2020 model. Do anyone know anything about how it to use for drawing?
What device and model do you guys use and would you recommend it?
Iโ€™m using procreate so iPad only :two_hearts: :two_hearts: :two_hearts: :two_hearts:
Thank you in advance :butterfly: :butterfly:

I have the 2020 ipad air!
And I also use it for drawing.

If you do get it, make sure to get the 1st generation pencil because the second doesnโ€™t work with it (trust me, experience taught me well :joy:)

Iโ€™d highly recommend it! Itโ€™s rather easy to use.

Okay Thank you!!

I donโ€™t how to answer this question but I only use my phone to draw art and I think itโ€™s good I just donโ€™t think I should spend money on an iPad when I could do art on my phone this is my opinion and I know doesnโ€™t relate to your question.

I have the Apple 12.9-inch iPad Pro (2020), iโ€™m not a talented artist, but it works great, i also have procreate and the apple pencil to go with it. (the ipad title was copied from verizon i had to look it up )

As someone on their 2nd iPad this is what I learned. I have and iPad 7th gen 10.2 inches 128gb

  • Buy iPads with more GBS (128 or 256gb). Procreate takes up a lot of space and grows quickly, even if youโ€™re just using it for art. (I learnt this the hard way having to get another iPad cause of full storage)

  • I recommend 128gb. If youโ€™re new to art youโ€™ll probably experiment lot as an artist and with Procreate features as well which means a lot of artworks.

  • For a newbie I recommend cost friendly iPads as all the art related formats and updates are the same for all iPads 6th gen and up.

  • Bigger inches is better, it allows for more canvas space. But if youโ€™re just starting off donโ€™t go too big, or even go small since theyโ€™re cheaper.

  • Iโ€™d also recommend buying an Apple Pencil as even though styluses work they donโ€™t produce the same quality of drawing as apple pencils cause Apple want money, and like designing their products to work best exclusively with apple products. Which is another approx $100 on top of the iPad.

  • In conclusion something not too expensive theyโ€™re all similar anyways, bigger GBs for more storage, Apple Pencil somewhat needed and inches are up to you.

Honestly. U donโ€™t need iPad unless u start doing commissions. It is possible to make art on phone but if u want to practice and get ur skills on a better lvl to use them in a proper way then imo iPad is worthy
