As someone on their 2nd iPad this is what I learned. I have and iPad 7th gen 10.2 inches 128gb

Buy iPads with more GBS (128 or 256gb). Procreate takes up a lot of space and grows quickly, even if you’re just using it for art. (I learnt this the hard way having to get another iPad cause of full storage)
-
I recommend 128gb. If you’re new to art you’ll probably experiment lot as an artist and with Procreate features as well which means a lot of artworks.
-
For a newbie I recommend cost friendly iPads as all the art related formats and updates are the same for all iPads 6th gen and up.
-
Bigger inches is better, it allows for more canvas space. But if you’re just starting off don’t go too big, or even go small since they’re cheaper.
-
I’d also recommend buying an Apple Pencil as even though styluses work they don’t produce the same quality of drawing as apple pencils cause Apple want money, and like designing their products to work best exclusively with apple products. Which is another approx $100 on top of the iPad.

In conclusion something not too expensive they’re all similar anyways, bigger GBs for more storage, Apple Pencil somewhat needed and inches are up to you.
