Transition fade into bg error

Hi,
I need some help with my script.
So i have a bg already there and i have it fading out using the normal @transition fade out black in 3
It fades out normally and there is no error there.
The next bg is INT. BLACK - DAY and i want it to appear without a fade in or out. So i want the previous bg INT. BLUE SCHOOL HALLWAY - DAY
to just fade out and then the next bg just appears without a transition.
However, when i play it, the school bg fades out then appears for a second again before the black bg appears. I know i could try and make the black bg fade in too and since its black it wont matter as it will fade in black into black bg so i wont look like it faded in but,
The same thing always happens to me whenever i try to have one bg fade out and then the next just appear.
Can someone help please.

(and then stuff here)

oh sorry i already wrote that in the script. i just didnt realise i didnt write in in the thread.
The transition works fine, its just not going straight to the black bg

wait do u mean it takes a second then the transition starts?
becuz if so try using
@CHARACTER starts Animation
instead of
@CHARACTER is Animation

for actions that are coded b4 the transition

when you use transitions at the end of a scene, my suggestion is to have absolutely no command after that, only the next background

No specifically what had happened was the transition faded out but then it would show the screen from before the transition for a second and then go to the next bg. but it’s been sorted now.
