Transitions I feel dumb right now lol

Okay so I’m writing my third story (Still writing the other two lol) I have never been good at transitiona I know what they have like shade and curtain and more… but I cant remember do I do like
@transition fade in
Then my background
Then my characters
@transition fade out
Then start the scene
Lol please help me :joy:

Fade out at the end of a scene then fade in at the beginning of a scene.

Do I put my characters and background in the middle of the transitions?

The same way you ordered it above, but just replace the ins and outs

@transition fade out
Then my background
Then my characters
@transition fade in
Then start the scene
