Translation in story (how?)

Hi guys, I’m back after a year I guess , after a very busy life. Finally have to motivation & time to write again and I need some advice on this.

What is the best way to translate a sentence or words for your reader?
I usually did it with the readerMessage, but I don’t know if the readers will like it.
or should I go for the NARRATOR?

I’d say reader messages are better. Using the narrator might make the story slow for some readers. Reader messages also seem kind of educational in a way cause they pop up at the same time as the dialogues you wanna translate imo.

I like using a readerMessage for translations, but only if they’re brief. I honestly can’t stand when an entire scene is in a different language with readerMessage translations because I tap/read way faster than they pop up and it ends up feeling really disjointed.

If it’s an entire scene with a different language you could put a text overlay under the narrations/speech bubbles.

You can always add the translation in parentheses but if it’s just a word, I’ll say reader message.

Okay so reader messages are fine if is is like 1-3 sentences but other tan that i think it should be somewhere else due to some people not being able to read as fast and then te reader messages is like kind of timed
