Trying to make a car pull in but it won't work:

you have to describe me what exactly doesnt work because I am not at PC now so I cant test it.

here is a screenshot.:

The car shifts around.

why do you shift the car so high snd the driver so low?

Do you manualy spoted them or did you used just some template?

If I guess right you used a template but you used different car overlay so it doesnt work together.

You have to manualy spot boh the car and the character on right positions.

Do you know how to spotdirect characters and overlays?

Well , how do I make I work with the car I chose (I need it for conscitency)

I Used a template by @Dara.Amarie

Yes but a character moving with an overlay is new territory for me.

What are those positions?

You have to find that positions.

Simply go to the preview and put on spotdirecting and then manualy move the car snd the driver till it will look like how you want it when the car stops.

Copy the coordinates and then move the car to the position you want it to start driving from and the same with driver… the distance between starting and final spot should be the same for the car and for the driver.

This will ensure thew will move simultanously

when you have both the starting and ending point simply shift the overlay and move the character by walking him doing idle animation from first point to the second. And thats it.:blush:

I actualy dont thing dara has such template - but there is tutorial for it here made by Apes—maybe this is what you used?

If so go and reread it because it is not template but more tutorial …it is step by step explained how to do it.

Yeah, that’s what I used.

This what I used for a makeshift template.

as I said you cant use it as template when you use different overlay but there is explained how to do it. So if you will read the instruction you can aply the system to your car overlay

That’s what I did

It says this isn’t a valid directing command:

&NIX spot 1.194 179 -65 in zone 2 in 3.0 AND NIX does it while idle

if you want to spot him delete the does it while

if you wan him to walk to this spot the right command is

@CHAR walks to spot… in … AND CHAR does it while animation-name

If you know someone who can help please contact them. PLEASE.

That is literally what I said. I understand English is probably not your first language but you are impossible to understand.

no you did not wrote this you do not have there the “walks to” :wink:

Put the car and character where you want in this zone, I’m guessing this is zone 2? Put car shifts to and NIX walks to these spots in the same amount of seconds. Then put the same spots but in zone 1 before you move/shift them. That way, they stay in the same position whilst moving.
example
&overlay CAR shifts to 0 0 in zone 1 in 0
&NIX spot 1.280 100 0 in zone 1

&overlay CAR shifts to 0 0 in zone 2 in 3
&NIX walks to spot 1.280 100 0 in zone 2 in 3 AND NIX does it while idle

Now he moves backwards instead of with the car:

EXT. DRIVETHRU-DAY with DRIVE THRU WINDOW

@overlay DRIVE THRU WINDOW moves to layer 2

@overlay DRIVE THRU WINDOW -GLASS create

@overlay DRIVE THRU WINDOW -GLASS opacity 1

@overlay DRIVE THRU WINDOW -GLASS moves to layer 1

@overlay CAR ANGLE VINTAGE create

@overlay CAR ANGLE VINTAGE opacity 1

@overlay CAR ANGLE VINTAGE shifts to -694 -160 in zone 1

@overlay CAR ANGLE VINTAGE scales to 1.016 1.016

@overlay CAR ANGLE VINTAGE moves to layer 4

&NIX spot 1.190 269 -93 in zone 1

@overlay CAR ANGLE VINTAGE moves to layer 4

@FAST FOOD EMPLOYEE stands upscreen left

@FAST FOOD EMPLOYEE moves to layer 0
@FAST FOOD EMPLOYEE spot 1.280 171 29 in zone 2

@zoom reset
@cut to zone 2

@pause for a beat

@pause for a beat

&overlay CAR ANGLE VINTAGE shifts to -129 -140 in zone 1 in 3

&NIX walks to spot 1.190 140 -93 in zone 2 in 3 AND NIX does it while idle

Make sure the spots are the same for NIX for zone 1 and 2. If you want him to end up at spot 1.190 140 -93 in zone 2. Start with &NIX spot 1.190 140 -93 in zone 1 when you want him and the car to move put &NIX walks to spot 1.190 140 -93 in zone 2 in 3 AND NIX does it while idle

&overlay CAR ANGLE VINTAGE shifts to -877 -127 in zone 1 in 0
&NIX spot 1.081 -189 -35 in zone 1
pause for a sec
&overlay CAR ANGLE VINTAGE shifts to -143 -127 in zone 1 in 3
&NIX walks to spot 1.081 172 -35 in zone 2 in 3 AND NIX does it while idle

Try this, this overlay is a pain when using the trick I told you above :see_no_evil:
This spots are different to hide the characters feet, it’s just how I would direct it myself :slight_smile:

What did you do to get this to work? (Just curious)
