Welcome, here’s a short guide on opening and closing brackets

Example:
choice
"Honk your horn to scare the neighbor"{ <— an opening bracket, starts the scene within this particular choice once the reader taps on the option “Honk your horn to scare the neighbor”
#scene in this choice of honking the horn
} <— a closing bracket, ends the scene
Scene outside this choice so back to main story line in most instances.
I used a choice with one option has an example but really you have can multiple options within a choice.
Example with 2 options within a choice:
choice
"Honk your horn to scare the neighbor"{ <— an opening bracket, starts the scene within this particular choice once the reader taps on the option “Honk your horn to scare the neighbor”
#scene in this choice of honking the horn, then at end of option add closing bracket } to end the option and go outside of the choice.
}"Thow a baseball through window of neighbor"{ <---- opening bracket, starts the second choice.
#scene here
} <---- closing bracket, ends the scene
Scene outside this choice so back to main story line in most instances.
You can have as many options as you like. Just remember it is:
choice
“Option”{
Not
choice
}“Option”{
Because having a closing bracket wouldn’t make sense since you didn’t even start a scene and end it in your choice. They’re called opening and closing brackets for a reason!
Another thing, you always need dialogue before a choice.
Let’s Color Code the brackets:
choice
“Honk your horn to scare the neighbor”{
#scene
}“Thow a baseball through window of neighbor”{
#scene
}“Egg the Neighbor’s House”{
#scene
}
Scene outside this choice so back to main story line in most instances.
what they mean:
{ <---- opening bracket, opens the option in the choice
} <---- closing bracket, closes the option in the choice

Breaking it down, color coded:
This applies to if/elif/else as well! So gains and points, etc.
