Lol MEILa Summers isnāt the author of that, MELia something is.
Reading that story made me cringe more than anything. Honestly, the subject matter isnāt what disturbs me. I appreciate that she portrays the LI to be a monster (tho I hate when authors try to portray someone toxic but include CC to make them āhotāā¦likeā¦what?)
But the characters in that story literally look all the same: they have the exact same skintones so I canāt even tell whoās who. And the author uses the SAME music each ādramaticā moment and the āzoom slowly up and downā whenever some fool shows up.
Made me feel bad for laughing at how absurd it is. I remember echoing authors overusing the same directing moments to the point where Iām just⦠annoyed and amused. I canāt stand listening to that juvie-philly track anymore because the story ruined it for me lol.
Peoples complaint regarding white characters & full lips resides in the overuse of it. We know white people can get them, itās just annoying when itās used on almost every white character you can find.
I understand, although I donāt think theyāre on every character. I havenāt seen it that much although I may be wrong because I donāt read stories that often nowadays. I think honestly itās just up to what people want their characters to look like. They are animated characters and not real people, after all.
Understandable where youāre coming from, but if it wasnāt prevalent within the community it wouldnāt be talked about. People are free to make their characters look however they want, but people are also free to criticize the constant use of features which results in boring and generic looking characters
But why shouldnt I be able to use the full lips on my character just because another author chose to?
Are you guys thinking of stories that donāt allow you customization?
I can see it getting old if all characters in a story have them⦠it would stand out, but I dont think authorās should have to look at other stories to see if their visions are overused or not.
There are too few features for that to work.
I think the full lips are pretty.
Although out of 4 ink mcs, I believe I only used it on one, and I personally think she looks beautiful and I donāt think she looks unnatural.
But then again I donāt think any peopleās features are unnatural⦠People should love themselves even if they have unique features that others arent used to.
No one said you had to stop using the features you like to use just to satisfy others. People are just tired of seeing it. Itās an unpopular opinion thread, some people wonāt like the overuse of full lips and small noses, thatās all. Not trying to gatekeep, I just personally donāt like to see it myself.
I dont like a lot of drama in storiesā¦
I like when a story is somewhat predictable so that I dont get too anxious wondering whatās going to happen.
So Iām putting some of my opinions here. I dislike extra af advanced directing. Like I get it, you want your story to have some cool features. Some people do advanced directing really well, like Kaylas for example. However, when you have advanced directing for really unimportant moments, and there is no sense of aesthetic to me, it really bothers me a lot. I rather have simple, smooth directing with a sense of aesthetic than a clumped mess of advanced directing with absolutely 0 sense of aesthetic. And also when someoneās directing is kind of messy and involves a lot of advanced directing. I just like it plain and simple haha.
In case you didnāt get what I mean, I love advanced directing at suitable moments or is used to enhance the overall visual appeal (as this is a visual storytelling platform). I dislike it when itās overly used at insignificant moments, and really brings the entire aesthetic of the story down.
i donāt think what you said is confusing, i actually agree. i think advanced directing is cool and all, but itās not needed for every scene. it makes me focus on how unnecessary it is since it ruins that part for me. you put it all together very nicely
