I lastly wanted to add the discord community forms “cliques”, if you aren’t chatty in the server everyday or every other day. You’re usually ignored if you have questions. That’s why I personally don’t use discord. There’s some form of social hierarchy that rubs me the wrong way because I’m not a talkative person.

I believe you need to grab the thread link, go to the channel called “community-art” and the top thread is from the mods asking members of the community to pass on links to the threads members want to save.

The discord server definitely already has cliques forming, which was inevitable. We aren’t allowed to link the petition to save Forums in the server, but a mod told me it’s fine to keep sharing it here… which is basically saying “because Forums are closing, go ahead!” 
I’ve expressed concern about a couple of individuals in the server who are clearly trolls ALREADY. This is chaotic.
One thing that annoyed me quite a bit was another individual seemingly almost ranting at the members who are clearly upset and want to save Forums, telling us that we’ll only miss the nostalgia. 
The nostalgia is just ONE of MANY reasons the Forums will be missed, not the sole reason itself.

I feel like nostalgia is what is fueling 60% of the Episode community, which is part of the reason it is “dying”. A lot of the people on Episode have been there since they were the age of the “target audience”. Now that they are unable to reach as many members of that audience, they think stifling the older audience will save them.

I’m trying to use it and its alright. I’m just ignoring the chat sometimes. Like I find it awkward sometimes and I am really trying but I just ignore the chat now unless its like episode related stuff.

Yeah I get that. I think it would be fine if it was just a discord for chat but to replace forums? I still dont know. I like things being organised and tidy and that activity makes your thread bump up so more people see it.

That’s so true!! Decisions like this, to close an entire site to a large coropation don’t just happen it has to be discussed, they’ve had to know about this for awhile now. It just shows how much they don’t care, they could have warned us, given us a poll, started some type of fundraising, ANYTHING but they didn’t.

I hate to say this because I really wish I didn’t believe this but I honestly don’t think that the petition will work. I won’t be surprised if it’s just another thing episode ignores.
I honestly don’t get it. They see that their decisions or lack of them have caused sooo many creators to leave, I know of a few who have just went to other interactive story apps I feel like in order to increase their profits they should have looked at what they where doing wrong and fixed it.
I may be overreacting but...
I wouldn’t be surprised if in a few months or in a year they announce that episode is being shut down completly- actually I wouldn’t be surprised if they don’t even announce it. I’m in the process of re downloading all of my art work and putting all my stories in a doc to be safe and hope that it won’t happen.
I’ve been using episode since it first came out, I’ve grown up reading stories late at night when I was supposed to be up early for school in the morning, and then when I found out I could make one of the stories that I loved so much I started writing for this app AND IT WAS A STRUGGLE that was until I looked up how to code something and found Dara. Her website helped me so much but I still struggled and that’s when I found forums.
I’ve seen it in my opinion, its highest and in my eyes, this is definitely the lowest. I’ve met so many amazing people through it, I’m sad to say this, but honestly if forums ends up being removed I might just be done with the app

My thoughts 
You’re a multi-million dollar company but can’t afford to maintain your own website? You want everyday users to archive their content and moderate your new servers? For FREE? Mhm, just say you’re struggling. It’s so boring to look back on the negative changes over the years and realize all of them can be attributed to cost-cutting and profit maximization. I’m not for hyperbole; but for the first time, I’m genuinely not sure if Episode will exist two years from now.
