Use of # in stories

I see some writers using a # in their story but I just don’t understand why it’s needed ? why would you use # and some dialog in you’re story does it add something to the story it self?

It adds a script comment, and is common in any programming language.
On Episode it’s useful for taking notes on directing and scripting you plan to add later, reminding yourself of why certain dialogue or plot events will become relevant later on, keeping track of what a chunk of advanced coding is for, etc. Things on a line that starts with # won’t show up when you actually preview or read the story, so it’s only for the author’s benefit.
