Using symetry for overlays - suggestion for Episode team?

Hi there,

I was looking for some car overlays and then it hit me.
We can only rotate or translate the overlay but we can’t use symetry.
Which means that we have to use the predefined direction of the overlay.

For example, the red vintage car points right and in a scene I was writing, I wanted it to point left, like a symetry.

If anyone knows how to do it, can you advise ? (one of my idea was to modify the picture through GIMP)
In the contrary it’s not yet possible, dear episode team, do you plan to add extra animations ?

Thanks again !

If you do a negative scale factor, you can do this! For example, if you have it like this:

&overlay RED VINTAGE CAR shifts to 0 0 in zone 1
&overlay RED VINTAGE CAR scales to 1 1

Try the scale line instead as:

&overlay RED VINTAGE CAR scales to -1 1

(Note: you may also need to change the rotation of the overlay in addition to this scale change, otherwise, it could appear upside down)

This will give the appearance that it is facing the opposite direction

Another option you could use would be to save the overlay, flip it yourself in powerpoint or something (that’s what I tend to use!) and re-upload it as your own overlay.

Hope these suggestions help!
