We need to stop romanticinzig mafia!

Guys, I’m an Italian girl, and I honestly don’t understand why people romanticize a topic like mafia. IN THE REAL MAFIA THERE AREN’T ANY HOT/SWEET COUPLE!!! I hope that people will stop this, and I hope that foreign people are with me. I don’t want to offend anyone, I’m not the type, but these authors need to stop bc this is cringe.

I agree! Mafia really shouldn’t be romanticized

it’s more like a horny fantasy. as a teen, I fantasied about having a relationship with a vampire
of course, mafia and vampires are very different. though the mafia in episode stories is more unrealistic than a vampire.

personally I like some mafia stories, depending on how they are written, and honestly episode dont really write them the way I like.

but I am also an adult who can fully see this arent real, its a fantasy. like dreaming of been saved by a prince. that won’t ever happen, I can differ from reality

also how come mafia stories always are from the same 3 countries.

I have lost track of how many times I’ve said this. STOP ROMANTICISING MAFIA. You don’t even know what you’re writing about and believe that the guy from 365 days is how a mafia leader lives. It’s heartbreaking seeing how Italy is denigrated by your stereotypes.

Not all mafias are Italian in actual life as well. You’re not offending anyone by the way, I completely understand what you’re saying. To be honest, I usually avoid mafia stories unless I find them interesting. The only thing that I feel is that they’re extremely overused and can tend to be a bit cringy at times.

have you ever thought the reason why you don’t see anything bad about it, or the reason you find these stories good is probably because this topic is romanticized too much?

I dunno what mafia stories that you guys have been reading, but the ones that Ives read (so far) don’t fantasize or glorify rape or any of that. Obviously there’s a line to what you should or shouldn’t be glorifying in mafia stories, and the stories that cross the line tend to be problematic, but mafia stories are always gonna be there. And I can’t lie when I say I enjoy some of them. I can see where you’re coming from though.

Mafia stories are usually just cringy and are written by younger people that have a big fantasy. I don’t really read them because they are predictable and overused.

It’s funny because most of the most notorious mafia bosses arent the irresistible heartthrobs episode makes them out to be. I don’t think most of these people would swoon over Al Capone. Not to mention, there’s nothing attractive about being a criminal

I think its fine that people like these stories and honestly, I don’t mind them. But I think if you want to read these kind of stories, you need to acknowledge that real life mafia is not like this at all. If you understand how real mafia works, I don’t mind if they read it because at the end of the day, they will know that this fantasy is not reality.

The thing is I don’t think they will ever understand until it happen to them :see_no_evil:

I know what mafia means I am not that dumb. There’s difference between real mafia and episode mafia. Real is actually bad and nobody wants to be part of it. Episode is just VERY badly written what comes out cheezy.

But just let people read what they want…

Uh— maybe that’s because it’s romanticized. You don’t want to make a BAD thing look GOOD. You’re telling these young kids that it’s okay when they barely know anything about a mafia. These episode stories are BELITTLING the trama of those who have actually experienced what it’s like to be in a mafia. And some people in this community have faced that trama.

Of course people can read what they want. But that doesn’t mean it’s okay to prompt a false image on a platform with kids who are as young as 13, some even 11 and 10

You can’t take anything seriously on Episode. Nothing basically isn’t what it is in real life.

STOP EXPOSING YOUNG EPISODE READERS TO TOXIC THEMES, BEFORE THEY NORMALISE THEIR BEHAVIOUR!

STOP EXPOSING YOUNG EPISODE READERS TO MAFIA STORIES, BEFORE THEY GAIN FALSE INTERPRETATIONS ON WHAT THE MAFIA IS LIKE!
