Hiya, so this thread is just going to be about conversation, and I’m wondering, what are some things you guys see in stories that you’re not quite a fan of? (basically pepeeves)
Mines is: I hate it when the love interests look the same although they aren’t related in any kind of way.

I can agree, it makes you feel some type of way about your episode given stories, when you want to wear that dress to impress josh it costs 60 diamonds lol.

Mine is when there are multiple LI’s but then it’s super obvious that the writer prefers one over the other
multiple love interests mainly but because i always ship one more than the other and often dislike the one i don’t ship so it just annoys me but that’s just me lmao i do the same thing for tv shows
I get what you’re saying, sometimes i feel the same way when they also barely show the other LI.
Dude I hate when this happens, I’ve always done it tho 
I agree, i shipped damon and elena more than stephen and elena. I also shipped hayley and elijah more than hayley and jackson. I don’t know it’s just, blah.
like anytime theyre with the LI i don’t like i just get so mad and it’s for no reason

i haven’t watched TVD but YES and it’s so hard to deal with lmao
like i’m rewatching jane the virgin rn and i know she ends up with the guy i like but whenever she was with another guy i still didn’t like it 
and the same happens with episode
another pet peeve is stuff that’s completely illogical. can’t think of an example rn but just when it clearly makes no sense for that to happen or there’s no backstory to it
I agree, I was reading a story i found on Read For Read and the female MC was leaving to college with her brother then two scenes later the author let the reader know her brother was a movie star … but what-

Another thing I hate is descriptions of nothing, I can sit there for 5 minutes reading about what the author is describing, and all for nothing? Sam is going to the laundromat, write me a 5 page essay on why he’s going to the laundromat. Gosh.
I was already self conconious about adding dialogue, I tend to write a lot of it but yeah you don’t need dialouge on why unless it moves the story forward.
I’m writing myself, and I do know that us authors do need to describe somethings because you know it’s episode, but most authors describe useless things like on why the pencil dropped on the floor WITH 10 PARAGRAPHS. Ugh that just makes me so angry.
Yeah it causes a drag.
