Hey guys!
I was wondering what you guys are interested in reading, so feel free to list them down in the comments below. It could be anything you want or any ideas/thoughts. (I have a list of things you could comment below about).

I am doing this because I am currently writing my first ever episode story and I don’t know how to make it interesting for the audience and I have many questions. So it would be very helpful if you guys could give me your opinion on this.

Personally I like when I get to customise the MC, but I also don’t mind having an MC that has limited or no customisation because it gives them more character. And allows you to focus on their personality rather than their looks, as well as to help show their ethnicity/nationality. The same goes for the love interest(s). :]

Another opinion of mine, when it comes to billionaire and mafia stories, they’re all quite cliche to me and I don’t find any uniqueness to them. (But by all means, mafia stories are pretty interesting when done right)

Episode length is hard to say haha, because atm I’m reading ‘The Galactic Game’ (which I highly recommend) and it’s 50 episodes long!! The longest I had ever read before that was around 26 chapters, which I thought was the perfect amount.

  1. Personally, even when customization is provided, I really don’t customize :joy: but I know a lot of people like customizing.

Do you want 1 or 2 interests?

  1. I like having only the one, but sometimes 2 are nice. It’s really up to you. :slightly_smiling_face:

Do you like a long or short story?

  1. I like medium length stories, like 20-30 episodes long.

Do you like twisted plots that involve the mafia or not?

  1. I do like mafia stories, but some of the them seem to be pretty similar to other mafia stories. I also like stories that don’t have it in it as well.

Do you want to name your character or not?

  1. I’m going to say not, because I personally like playing as a character and not as myself.

Do you want a billionaire involved story?

  1. That’s all up to you! If a billionaire is involved cool, but if there isn’t one that ok too.

How long to do like the episodes?

  1. I like medium length episodes and sometimes a variety of different lengthened episodes.

Do you like choices or not?

  1. Choices are ok, but I’ll still read a story even if it doesn’t have choices.

How do you guys find inspiration for stories?

  1. Personally, I sometimes get inspirations from dreams :joy: but I also get inspiration from music.

What do you like to read about?

  1. Unique things!

I like it when names are fixed when they have meaning to that character. Like when her name means smth to her etc. Its also great because fixed names means characters around her can make up nicknames for her according to their personality.

Limited customization (although I would prefer none).

2 love interests, but no more than that.

Somewhere in the middle. I would say around 10 or so episodes.

I really don’t.

I would really only want to name the characters if full customization is offered.

Not really.

Somewhere around 10 minutes.

I do like choices, regardless of whether they impact the plot or not.

How do you guys find inspiration for stories?
This is a good question. I think about my favorite types of stories and my favorite types of characters and seeing how I can relate to the story and it’s characters.

What do you like to read about?
I like to read about stories involving the arts, such as theatre, music, dance, and visual arts. I also like to read comedy stories and romantic comedies (although when it comes to romance between a boy and a girl, I tend to have a strong preference for the girl to be the dominant/flirty one in the relationship and the guy to be the shy submissive one).

To pick a topic to write abt or find inspiration in, tou should find something that interests you deeply. Writing is a verrry long and tedious process, everyone feels like giving up once in a while and if you arent writing about something that you love, its hard to go on after a while. Find a thing u would love to write about and expand on it! ^^ haha thats the best tip I can give you.

  1. I like full CC, but I don’t mind limited, especially if the family is going to look entirely different if they don’t give you limited CC.
  2. There are a lot of Episode stories. In some, your choices matter, and in some, you’re really just reading it like a book. In ones where your choices matter, I don’t care if it’s one or multiple, but I like when you have to have enough points to end up with them, and I like when you have a choice not to end up with anyone. In ones where it’s like a book and you’re just reading it for the story and/or it has choices but the endings are all the same, I like having multiple potential love interests, but ultimately one. When there’s two or more, you’re questioning who they’re going to end up with, even if it’s not your choice. When there’s one, you know right from when they’re introduced “Well, this is who they’re ending up with. Now to see their misadventures until it ends in their wedding.”
  3. I like in between. I think 20-35 episodes is a good amount. It really depends on how long the episodes are.
  4. I will read mafia stories, and if they’re well written then they are enjoyable, but I feel like it’s been overdone, and now it feels like all mafia stories have the same plot line. But if you want, write a mafia story! Just please make it original.
  5. I like naming my character. Just the first name, because I can never come up with a last name that fits my character and goes with their first name. If their planned name has a back story, I’d rather not name them.
  6. Billionaire involved stories are just fine with me!
  7. I like shorter episodes, between 5-10 minutes. I don’t like the ones that are longer than 10 minutes because I have a short attention span, which ends up with me clicking randomly and then I miss important details. I also prefer when the episodes are consistently the same length, it bothers me when one is 5 minutes and the next is 15, it throws me off, I like being able to plan how long the reading is going to take me in case I have other things to do. Also, I do a lot of my Episode reading at night, and I get really tired but I don’t wanna miss out on the reward, so it feels like the episodes drag on forever. I JUST WANT MY REWARD AND MY SLEEP.
  8. I don’t mind when Episode stories are like books. But I don’t like when the endings are obvious. So, I will read stories with no choices, small choices that don’t matter, or stories where the choices matter.
  9. My mind is constantly running and I’m always thinking of new ideas. I’d say I probably think of about. 3-5 new story ideas per day.
  10. I like all genres except thriller and horror because of my anxiety and again, I usually read Episode at night. A pet peeve of mine is when authors mislabel their genre, I know it’s their choice but I don’t like when the story is a love story but they label it as drama, in my mind drama is more high school/my crazy life kind of Episode story (which I still enjoy) but maybe the author thought it was more drama than romance

Thank you so much for your feedback! It really helped me.

My story is a romance story and I planned the whole cliche millionaire and his assistant sorta thing but then I realized that the storyline had been done so many times which is why I wanted to change it. So I wanted other’s opinions on how to make it better and interesting.

It’s no problem at all!
Just remember to write what you love and feel inspired to write. It will help in motivating you to keep going as coding for the stories can get a bit tedious at times. ^-^

No, I prefer the author to name their characters how he/she wants them to be named.

Depending on the storyline, but it up to the author’s choice.

About maybe 15 minutes, not too long.

I do, if they’re not any choices in the story, I still read.

Music, movies, and stories.

I love to read a lot of about mysteries, mythical creatures, family, action, and a little bit of comedy.

Yes, but they can’t be overdone. Like, when there’s a male in the story, and they portray him in the art scene as this sexy, definition-of-masculine man. Or when they try doing that to a female, making her boobs look huge or anything like that. I also prefer art scenes when the characters are sharing a moment, not kissing, when they kiss in an art scene, it always feels awkward and uncomfortable for me. I don’t like them being underdone either, they have to look somewhat realistic. Summary for me: I don’t like when the art scene makes them look silly or like cartoons, and I don’t like when they’re overdone and they don’t look like the character or make the reader feel like that’s the character
Art scenes are supposed to bring your story to life and put emphasis in certain scenes, not portray the characters as different people
And this ties into the CC thing, I’d rather there be no CC or limited CC than have the characters look completely different than the art scene because then it doesn’t truly represent the characters
(Another long response haha, I’m very passionate about my opinions)

Hey, I know you have a lot of replies already but:

  1. I like full customisation! Unless it really matters to the story.
  2. To me, it doesn’t matter but I know a lot of people prefer two.
  3. I like long stories, around 20-30 episodes is good.
  4. I avoid stories that involve the mafia, it’s overused.
  5. Unless it matters to the story, I like naming my character.
  6. I feel like billionaire stories are also overused but I kinda like them so :smiley:
  7. Episodes should be like, a good length. They need to be worth the pass, although not too long to bore people. If there isn’t any suspense or drama going on and it’s quite useless, I prefer them shorter.
  8. Choices are a must.
  9. I find inspo through prompts online!
  10. Anything, but I prefer normal human stuff unless you can really sell the idea of something, Galactic Game was really good even if it’s something I don’t normally read.

    I dont do CC, though when makeing the dicision to add it or not really think about it, a lot of people wont read a story with out CC, so if you dont add it you better have a good reason, those reason is, look really matter to the story, you have art scenes and body overlays

Honestly, anything as long as I like the story.
I prefer full customization, one love interest, long stories (like 20-40 episodes), and plot twists. I don’t care about the name. Having a billionaire in the story can be fun, but it can also be cliche, too. I like episodes to be at least 1000 lines of basic story telling, so that includes dialogue, characters, transitions, backgrounds, and the basic scenes. Meaning, that excludes the overlays and long lines of spot directing, customization, etc.
I do like choices. They do not need to be major. Just a few minor ones here and three. I recommend at least 3 choices per episode, not including customization. Those choices can be like choosing to hangout between the love interest or best friend, how to respond to a bully, what to eat at a restaurant, where to go to first, etc.
I find the inspiration for comics through stories, recent events, dreams, anime, and TV shows. Almost everywhere.
I used to like reading INK werewolf stories. Then I transitioned into drama and romance and fantasy LL stories. I still like those kind of stories, however, I’m transitioning more into mystery and comedy now.
About customizing parents, I think the coding should be done on the author’s part. Readers came to read a story, not to customize a bunch of people.

  • If there is customization, then full! Limited customization is a bit stupid in my opinion. Then just don’t include customization!

  • 2, it’s fun (but sometimes very hard, haha) to choose :blush:

  • I like both! But I don’t like it when there are more than 55 chapters or something.

  • I never really liked mafia and gang stories, so no. It’s overused.

  • I don’t mind if I can choose a name or not! But if you can (fully) customize, then it makes a bit sense that you can also change the name. But if it isn’t included, I don’t really mind.

  • I don’t mind if the story has something to do with a billionaire.

  • 8-15 minutes reading time is perfect to me, since I am a fast reader. Chapters that are 30 minutes (or longer) can bore me, even when I really like the story.

  • I do like choices! But if there aren’t any included in the story, I don’t mind.

  • I don’t know where I find story Inspiration, actually :thinking:

  • I just love unique stories, haha.
