Would you read this story based on the cover art? How do you feel about minimal vs busy covers? Do story covers even matter to you?
While we’re on the subject, how vague can a description be? Are you, like me, over the prevalent “Girl is -blank-, but then -blank-, what will happen when -blank-?!” formula? Would you read a story with a description that has a vibe rather than an explanation of the story? For instance I read a romance-fanfic where the description was a Merwin poem “Your absence has gone through me, like thread through a needle, everything I do is stitched with its color”, and it really hooked me. It didn’t tell me anything specific about the story but I got the general vibe.
I’d definitely take a look at a story with a cover like this!
