the wait and having to use gems if u dont want to wait for next chapter
A choice that’s like “Get figured out” or “sneeze and get caught”–but the twist is, you have to pay for the first option with an unreasonable amount of gems… urghh
There’s a lot lol, but here are some of them.
Bad grammar, terrible directing, episode length being super short or super long, mean girls and toxic playboy LIs with a bodycount of 100
Boring directing, dragged out first episodes (I need to be hooked to want to continue a story) & exposition dump
“Directing” as in general direction, not coding and stuff.
That’s true even if it sounds a little harsh… Like, don’t post stories if it’s to overlook one of Episode’s biggest fundamentals (coding). After that it depends huh, there are those who are negligent and those who didn’t do it on purpose
It reminds me of a story I read to support a person (that I didn’t even know). The person had done 7 chapters and the first was repeating (There was an endless loop/label).
It’s true, sometimes there are authors who (without wanting to insult anyone) seem there only for the money (because when you create a story you can have money with gems or number of readings).
Normally you don’t have to use gems to see the next chapter unless I’m wrong.
Like the Joker film from 2019! Though I’ve only seen people doing breakdowns on the movie because I was too young to watch it in theatres
And it is an underrated plot device to use. Though I would argue that it’s not easy
A major red flag in a story, resulting in loss of interest, is a lack of engagement, predictability, or shallow characters. When a narrative fails to captivate, becomes too predictable, or features underdeveloped characters, it can leave readers or listeners disengaged and disinterested.
Romanticising awful things
Like mafia, murderers, abusers, toxic men, drug and alcohol use, etc etc …
Bad execution! A concept of a story will seem interesting, but the way the author wites is either boring, too fast paced (looking at you episode official stories), or bad directing.
Unneeded attention to a romance, especially if it’s a love triangle. This was especially a problem with My Sister’s Crush and Faking Death, both great stories with an interesting concept, but too much focus on the romance I wish wasn’t there cuz I don’t even like my Li options. The twins were great in my sister crush but damn I wish Axel wasn’t a love interest, there was literally no need, he could’ve been explored as a character without liking Lola.
Yeah boring coding is a peeve, when characters just stand in pre-made spots, and they only enter and exit scenes and say random dialouge I also meant “directing” as in the general direction of the story, like how it’s written, the designs, the story style, the artistic choices, all those things can make or break a story, not only in episode but in film or tv too!
