What makes a hero?

I’m doing an essay about heroism and in my essay I would like to write what other people think determine a hero. Write what you think makes a hero and your name.

So what do you think makes a hero?

I’d say someone that tries to do the right thing and puts others before themselves. ‘Hero’ can mean different things to different people, but for instance there’s a lot of difference between a stereo typical knight fighting a dragon and a person taking care of someone who is seriously poorly- both can be considered heroes.

What do you mean by the first point that the hero is always the protagonist?

The hero in a story is always the mc

Traditionally, anyway. These are the archetypal definitions.

That’s not necessarily true? Like you’ve said the protagonist isn’t always a hero, so it can’t be said both ways. The MC may be a coward and a supporting character the hero of the story.

Yeah, like I said, that’s the archetypal definition. It’s the traditional one as it applies to most literature.

I agree!

Yes!!! I think every has their own interpretation of what a hero is.

Someone who puts somebody else’s life and health before their own in order to save another person.
