As we all know the bun of the hot dog covers three sides of the sausage (bottom, left and right). Well according to the cube rule (I’ll insert below), if the starch has “three sides” (just like the hotdog) it’s considered a taco. To further validate my point, sausages are typically made from beef, as well is taco meat 
Both tacos and hot dogs can be topped with various toppings like lettuce, tomato, even guacamole (I live in NYC, of course, I’ve seen guac on a hot dog)
