What type of Episode Stories do you like?

I know you may have seen a thread like this before. But I wanted to create my own. I’m writing a story currently and I wanted to know what readers like to see in stories. Just so I can fit to everyone’s preference or at least try to. I have a few questions I’m going to ask you guys. Just to give me a feel of what you like to see in stories. You can add any more details or questions you want to add as well. So here are the few questions I want to ask you guys to know what type of episode stories do you like and what type of things you like to see in stories.

1. What’s your favorite genre of story to read, and why? (Ex: Romance, Comedy Etc)

2. Do you like romance to be the main point of the story, more of something low-key and in the background, or none at all?

3. How do you feel about love triangles? (Yes, no, maybe so :joy:) and why ?

4: Classic, Ink, Limelight. Which is your favorite, and does the style change how you feel about a story? Would you read a story in a style other than in the style you like ?

5. Do you prefer stories that have dark or serious story lines or not so dark and not serious stories? And why ?

6. What are things you can’t stand in a story ? And why ?

7. How long do you like stories to be? Chapter length and how many episodes overall in a story? And why ?

8. What elements make a story good?

9: Any coding threads, sites, or videos that helped you. (Ex: @JosephEvans , @Dara.Amarie, @Apes, or anyone) If you have the links and stuff please put them here!

10: If you have a story out why not link it here! What’s it about ?

Thanks for taking the time to fill this out! You guys are amazing!!

(SORRY IF YOU DIDN’T WANT TO BE BOTHERED) Add more people!!

1. What’s your favorite genre of story to read, and why? (Ex: Romance, Comedy Etc)

Fantasy. I love it!! All the action, adventure, fantasy elements! I 'm just in love with it. EVERYTHING BABY! LOL #FANTASYLOVE :heart:

2. Do you like romance to be the main point of the story, more of something low-key and in the background, or none at all?

No romance. We need more stories without romance in them and that it isn’t the main point of the story., but it all depends on the author. We will get these kinds of stories out soon. Hopefully.

3. How do you feel about love triangles? (Yes, no, maybe so :joy:) and why ?

I love it, because I just love it. lol

4: Classic, Ink, Limelight. Which is your favorite, and does the style change how you feel about a story? Would you read a story in a style other than in the style you like ?

ALL STYLES ARE MY FAV!!! The style doesn’t need to change at all. I would read any stories with any style. :sunglasses::100:

5. Do you prefer stories that have dark or serious story lines or not so dark and not serious stories? And why ?

I would like both because I like to read more of those kinds of stories.

6. What are things you can’t stand in a story ? And why ?

  • Grammar.
  • Stories that are being rushed.

Alright for grammar, yes, we are going to help you proofread with your Grammar. We all know English isn’t everyone’s native language, and that’s okay. I don’t really care if others stop reading the story because of Grammar. If u don’t want to read the story cause of poor Grammar, that’s fine. At least help the author with proofreading.

For stories that are being rushed, PLEASE PLAN YOUR STORY OUT, BEFORE YOU START IT. LOOK AT TUTORIALS IF YOU DON’T KNOW HOW TO CODE YET. EVERYTHING THAT YOU NEED TO KNOW AND DO IS ON FORUMS & YOUTUBE.

7. How long do you like stories to be? Chapter length and how many episodes overall in a story? And why ?

Chapter Length and episodes doesn’t really matter to me, it all depends on the author.

8. What elements make a story good?

Grammar, Plot, Directing, etc if you are talking about this.

9: Any coding threads, sites, or videos that helped you. (Ex: @JosephEvans , @Dara.Amarie, @Apes, or anyone) If you have the links and stuff please put them here!

ALL ARE VERY HELPFUL!!

10: If you have a story out why not link it here! What’s it about ?

Sure, it’s in Classic but I don’t even know if others will still read it, but that’s fine with me. I publish it, and I’m proud that I got my FIRST story out! XD.

1. What’s your favorite genre of story to read, and why? (Ex: Romance, Comedy Etc)

It’s fantasy because I love made up stuff

2. Do you like romance to be the main point of the story, more of something low-key and in the background, or none at all?

I like romance to be the main point if the story is in the romance genre. Otherwise, it’s nice to have it on the side

3. How do you feel about love triangles? (Yes, no, maybe so :joy:) and why ?

I hate them. It makes the MC look like a wh*re (in my opininon)

4: Classic, Ink, Limelight. Which is your favorite, and does the style change how you feel about a story? Would you read a story in a style other than in the style you like ?

LL is my favourite. I can only read stories in Ink if they are comedies and Classic is a huge no, no (sorry Ink/Classic lovers)

5. Do you prefer stories that have dark or serious story lines or not so dark and not serious stories? And why ?

I prefer stories that get darker as they go

6. What are things you can’t stand in a story ? And why ?

Bad directing, bad English, stupid or poorly developed characters. They just annoy me

7. How long do you like stories to be? Chapter length and how many episodes overall in a story? And why ?

I like it when chapters are decently long (about 10-15 min. of reading time) so I don’t feel like I wasted passes. I don’t care about the number of chapters as long as I enjoy the story

8. What elements make a story good?

Good directing, nice descriptions, well-developed characters

9: Any coding threads, sites, or videos that helped you. (Ex: @JosephEvans , @Dara.Amarie, @Apes, or anyone) If you have the links and stuff please put them here!

@JosephEvans’s videos and @Dara.Amarie’s threads

10: If you have a story out why not link it here! What’s it about ?

Mine is a mystery story
Description: A letter at her doorstep sets Harper looking for a mysterious woman. But there’s more than meets the eye about her…

  1. Fantasy - I like escaping into a unique world and just love fairytales myths etc
  2. Depends on story and how well written. I like it as main and side points. But I also love some stories that don’t have it.
  3. Yes :joy::joy: if well written but sometimes :woman_facepalming:
  4. Ink, I mean classic makes me kinda cringe I can read it and I wish that they had more for classic fans. I like reading all styles though.
  5. Im sorry for all the “it depends” but it depends, once again how well written matters.
  6. Directing errors  Preview the story!
  7. 7-9 minutes if it’s longer I feel like I have to keep reading. Not from enjoyment. Depends on the story is say 15-30 is a good range.
  8. Depends okay I said this over and over it really depends on genre :woman_shrugging:
  9. I just created threads to ask and scrolled through threads to find my answers.
  10. None

1. What’s your favorite genre of story to read, and why? (Ex: Romance, Comedy Etc)

Fantasy and adventure. I just feel like those genres have the best stories with more unique plots (after you get passed the vampire and werewolf stories lol). Those genres also have a lot of different realms and old period stories and those are my absolute favourite stories to read.

2. Do you like romance to be the main point of the story, more of something low-key and in the background, or none at all?
I don’t like it to be the main plot. I don’t really enjoy stories where the only theme is romance. However, I do enjoy stories where there is a bit of romance.

3. How do you feel about love triangles? (Yes, no, maybe so :joy:) and why ?
Mmm honestly, I don’t know. I do like when there are multiple LI’s though lol.

4: Classic, Ink, Limelight. Which is your favorite, and does the style change how you feel about a story? Would you read a story in a style other than in the style you like ?
My favourite style is ink. Although I think ink has better animations and makes it easier to feel with its sad animations, my opinion on the story won’t change if ink is not used. I can read limelight stories but I just can’t bring myself to read a classic story. I will start to try to read stories in classic though, because I’ve heard there are really good stories in the classic style.

5. Do you prefer stories that have dark or serious story lines or not so dark and not serious stories? And why ?
I like both. It just depends the mood I’m in and what I feel like reading.

6. What are things you can’t stand in a story ? And why ?
Rushed romance
No development
When a story is dragging on instead of ending
The same repeated storylines with no twists
Abusive and asshole LI’s
A whiny and irritating MC
I can’t stand them because they’re irritating as hell and don’t make the story enjoyable to read.

7. How long do you like stories to be? Chapter length and how many episodes overall in a story? And why ?
No more than 30 episodes and even that is still a bit long lol and each episode should be around 5-10 minutes long.

8. What elements make a story good?
Character development
A good storyline
Each character having differnet personalities
Effort

9: Any coding threads, sites, or videos that helped you. (Ex: @JosephEvans , @Dara.Amarie,@Apes, or anyone) If you have the links and stuff please put them here!
Not really. I wish I had known about them earlier. I will look at a few of Jem and Dara’s threads if I need help with some minor directing help now though.

10: If you have a story out why not link it here! What’s it about ?
:sweat_smile::sweat_smile: I don’t really wanna link them. But you can check out my profile if you’re ever interested or curious haha.
