#1

The title says it all. I need the car to drive off the screen. What did I do wrong?
@Dara.Amarie

#2

I think you might have to change the & in the &overlay to an @ (@overlay).
Because it is performing the action all at once because you typed & instead of @.

#3

In your title, you need to do
with CAR1 to (scale, shift) in zone 2 at layer 1

#4

It still didn’t work

#5

What is it appearing as?

#6

When I preview it, It moves & then it stops

#7

Can you copy and paste the whole script, I might have a way to fix it!

NARRATOR
Pause

#9

Did you want the cars to look like they are driving on a road?

#10

Yes. I would like it to drive off the screen fast

#11

When you use the & symbol, it’ll do all the effects during the narrator pause
Putting the animation & all under each other will usually cause it to cancel out, which is why it stops.
Here is a line of code where I use THEN, so none of the lines are skipped.
You can tell me if this works or not, and we will figure out another way together!

@overlay CAR2 shifts to -53 18 in 0.5 AND overlay CAR1 shifts to -46 20 in 0.3 THEN overlay CAR2 shifts to -30 16 in 0.5 AND overlay CAR1 shifts to -33 21 in 0.3 THEN overlay CAR2 shifts to -11 15 in 0.5 AND overlay CAR1 shifts to -17 19 in 0.3 THEN overlay CAR2 shifts to 3 14 in 0.5 AND overlay CAR1 shifts to 2 19 in 0.3 THEN overlay CAR2 shifts to 16 15 in 0.5 AND overlay CAR1 shifts to 19 17 in 0.3 THEN overlay CAR2 shifts to 30 18 in 0.5 AND overlay CAR1 shifts to 31 18 in 0.3 THEN overlay CAR2 shifts to 41 19 in 0.5 AND overlay CAR1 shifts to 53 20 in 0.3 THEN overlay CAR2 shifts to 60 20 in 0.5 AND overlay CAR1 shifts to 72 20 in 0.3 THEN overlay CAR2 shifts to 76 21 in 0.5 AND overlay CAR1 shifts to 93 18 in 0.3 THEN overlay CAR2 shifts to 88 21 in 0.5 AND overlay CAR1 shifts to 111 16 in 0.3 THEN overlay CAR2 shifts to 108 21 in 0.5 AND overlay CAR1 shifts to 132 16 in 0.3 THEN overlay CAR2 shifts to 123 23 in 0.5 AND overlay CAR1 shifts to 158 16 in 0.3 THEN overlay CAR2 shifts to 138 24 in 0.5 AND overlay CAR1 shifts to 184 16 in 0.3 THEN overlay CAR2 shifts to 148 24 in 0.5 AND overlay CAR1 shifts to 210 16 in 0.3 THEN overlay CAR2 shifts to 161 25 in 0.5 AND overlay CAR1 shifts to 237 17 in 0.3 THEN overlay CAR2 shifts to 178 26 in 0.5 AND overlay CAR1 shifts to 267 16 in 0.3 THEN overlay CAR2 shifts to 189 25 in 0.5 AND overlay CAR1 shifts to 302 16 in 0.3 THEN overlay CAR2 shifts to 197 25 in 0.5 AND overlay CAR1 shifts to 331 15 in 0.3 THEN overlay CAR2 shifts to 205 26 in 0.5 AND overlay CAR1 shifts to 331 15 in 0.3 THEN overlay CAR2 shifts to 223 25 in 0.5 AND overlay CAR1 shifts to 331 15 in 0.3 THEN overlay CAR2 shifts to 251 25 in 0.5 AND overlay CAR1 shifts to 331 15 in 0.3 THEN overlay CAR2 shifts to 275 24 in 0.5 AND overlay CAR1 shifts to 331 15 in 0.3 THEN overlay CAR2 shifts to 298 26 in 0.5 AND overlay CAR1 shifts to 331 15 in 0.3 THEN overlay CAR2 shifts to 328 27 in 0.5 AND overlay CAR1 shifts to 331 15 in 0.3

#12

It drove off screen, but while it drives, it stops& drives again. It won’t drive at a fast pase

#13

If you’d like the car to move quickly, you could spot it at the current spot, then spot it off screen.

Like this.
EXT. TOKYO STREET - NIGHT with CAR1 to 1.571 -58 26 in zone 2 at layer 2 with CAR2 to 0.826 -66 17 in zone 2
@ overlay CAR2 shifts to 328 27 in zone 2 in 0.5 AND overlay CAR1 shifts to 331 15 in zone 2 in 0.3 using easein

#14

Instead of doing a bunch of different spots, you could do it like that.

#15

Thank you so much!

#16

Glad to help!
If you have any other coding issues do not hesitate to ask! :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:

#17

Ok. So I need some more help. How do you make a character stay in the car while it’s moving?

#18

You can use a looping background!

#19

But my background isn’t a looping background

#20

You’ll have to make them walk to a spot while the car is moving, but you can make your character use an animation such as idle or talk_neutral so it doesn’t look like their walking, they’ll just be moving.

So it’ll be like
& overlay (NAME) shifts to (SPOT) in 3
& CHARACTER walks to spot (coordinates) in 3 AND CHARACTER is talk_neutral
CHARACTER (talk_neutral)
Add what you want here!
