This will differ based on your user level. The more you reply, achieve likes and badges, etc. The more these will increase. Hope this helps explain how the forums are designed a bit better. Hi all.
Just a note, the private messages are just that…private messages and are not intended to be used as chat rooms. As Private Messages don’t typically go over 50 replies back and forth, 500 is more than enough for the time being, as most people use the PM feature as a chat room which again…it is not intended for.
We might think about these concerns again in the future…but for now the settings will remain the same.
Regarding topics, this is an auto close feature that helps combat spam, which some folks are prone to practicing on our forums. Thanks!
P.S: I don’t know why so many folks are supporting a thread that’s not in the feature request section
