What's your episode ick?

Too short if I’m being honest.

Maybe a bit earlier like 8th or something for me but yeah.

To be honest I don’t talk about contest episode stories, because I never had written one. But you are right. What I meant is that I don’t like to read stories where MC and LI fall in love instantly, because that’s not how it in real life works. Yes there are high school sweethearts who fell in love instantly in real life, but that is still seldom. I want to see their love grow in several episodes, not in one episode. That is definitely weird.

Slow burns test my patience, honestly. Like just get married already. That’s why for some reason I actually like how some episode-featured stories can sum up a romance in 15 episodes or less. I have zero patience.

I can understand that, too. But I stand by my point. It’s so unreal when LI and mc kiss immediately in episode 1. For me background story behind their love is really important, I don’t mind waiting for a good emotional recap where in will be explained how and why they fell in love.

Tip: better not try - too much stress, requirements, specific things you need for it, etc.
I have written 3 contest stories (The Fabled one too) and I still can’t stop entering them even if that’s a pain in the a*s. :joy:

I love middle-burn stories, if that’s what you could call them. As @louisewrites said: the slooow burns test my patience too much.

this is it. this is the singular most annoying thing about the app for me. while i find stuff like mafia stories, for example, incredibly boring, at least they don’t try to hide it; pretty much every single story labeled a rOmCoM is really just a romance with maybe two jokes per chapter. i just want to read something that’s actually funny ffs :sob::sob::sob:

2 gem wait for the next chapter :broken_heart:it makes me loose interest
3 too much of waiting for the character to talk during suspense scene
4 customizing everyone :smiling_face_with_tear:

I found a lot of plot-based icks on here… which are all so true and accurate. Like please, if you find 40-year-olds falling for 18-year-olds sweet or romantic or endearing then please… seek therapy oh my gosh.

But more than the plot, directing icks are the fastest to turn me off from a story.
Spot directing is soooo crucial for me. Because it’s too wacky for me to see the female literally be the exact same dimensions as the male (sometimes even bigger), and sometimes the spot directing doesn’t coincide with the dimensions of the background… like how is the character bigger than the size of the door or the couch (?)
Even character to character ratio needs to be just right. I love to see realistic height differences. But neither characters being the exact same height nor characters being concerningly different in size.
I don’t know if spot directing is considered basic or advanced directing… but it is essential to me.

@theorchidwriter I know in real life. There are tall people based on size and different high. So, Hight is based on character appearance.

it’s depended on background author will used for their character. But I understand, what you are saying based on your option and story that you have read.
