I knowā¦that was before I knew she was a
Iām reading the comments above. Itās obvious that people saying āwell, we support her except the transphobiaā is just cis people ignoring the impact and harm of her incredibly transphobic behavior while justifying their support for her in a way that excuses them from accountability. Trans people donāt suddenly feel okay when you tell them āWell, I donāt agree with herā, but continue promoting and supporting her/the franchise.
tally liked the book but not anymore. the author is transphobic and it ruins experience for them
dont know why ppl still support her when she spewed hate speech on twitter
We are here for fun so donāt spread hate u may not like her and we also donāt support that matter that doesnāt mean that we wouldnāt love HP and we will always doā¦I myself support LGBTQ communityā¦We are here for some fun discussionā¦So donāt spread hatred plsā¦If u donāt want to be here pls donāt be⦠Sorry if it sounded rude⦠But we will be always HP fan
no one is doing that
tally dont know why u are supporting a trash person but you do you ![]()
okay bye have a nice day! ![]()
You clearly donāt. You canāt say you support the community while you support someone like J.K Rowling, and you cannot convince me otherwise. You canāt say ādonāt spread hateā when you support someone who does that regularly.
I am sorry if i am being rude ā¦I donāt want to hurt anyoneās feelingsā¦So I am out from hereā¦I was just her for some fun and not serious discussionā¦Thank u @Adrija for tagging me ā¦Bye
As I said before, at least for me, I like her work - not her ideas. This is about Harry Potter and the Wizarding World which of course includes the author but this topic does not include anything the author says which is not related to HP.
When I started reading HP I had no idea about LGBTQ community or anything related because I was only 11 and had no idea that the author is transphobic. Her stories donāt promote any transphobic ideas either so I was clueless until recently I found out what she did.
This thread is to discuss HP where nothing against the LGBTQ+ community has been said or expressed. As you can see we havenāt talked much about JK Rowling apart from this. So Iām going to edit my topic and make this discussion solely for HP to avoid conflict.
I think it depends on how you look at it. An atheist is considered to be a ātrash personā by those who strongly believe in existence of deities but is he/she/they really a bad person just because he/she/they have a different view on a particular topic? This is similar in this case too. Thereās always going to be groups of people believing in different things so conflicts are bound to arise unless we are flexible enough to think in the point of view of the other person and resolve our differences which apparently is not gonna happen soon enough.
This is going off topic and I donāt want this topic to close please? ![]()
OMG! Please donāt go like that!! Come back come back come back!
Why does everything fall apart whenever Iām offline?!

THE OPINION IS ON SOMEONES LIFE WTH
those two are different and this is making other transphobes braver to oppress trans ppl. its not just a different opinion when it is endangering real life ppl
but ok tally will just leave so topic wonāt get closed
Whenever there are different opinions, thereās discrimination. Itās the truth unfortunately and you canāt deny it. Itās giving other transphobes the strength to oppress the trans I agree but youāre overlooking the fact that this happens every time thereās different opinions on a topic. If you choose the unconventional path people will criticize because thatās how society is and thereās power in numbers
and I was just giving an example. (:
People go to extreme lengths to prove what they believe in is right. Just like women were once ill-treated and discriminated but now their respect has increased slightly at least. This took so long because people had an opinion that women are not equal to men and took actions accordingly.
Thank you so much for understanding. ![]()
Just because she isnāt saying explicitly transphobic things in her released works doesnāt mean sheās a creator worth supporting. I donāt think you can conveniently separate the art from the artist when itās a piece of content that you enjoy, and ignore all the damage sheās doing with the platform Harry Potter has given her.
Before you give me any of that āwhat do you consider a bad personā crap, literally do any research on her. She made several statements since December 2019 talking about how she think trans women are men who āpretendā to be women in order invade the privacy of women and girls in bathrooms so they can assault them. She even wrote and published an entire book in 2020 about a man who dresses up as a woman to lure in female victims so he can rape and kill them.
.
If you still feel cozy about supporting her, then thereās nothing I can do. But itās obvious you havenāt looked into her.
are you comparing transphobia to womenās rightsā¦
Transphobia and womenās rights are different. Someone dressing up as a woman to lure women is wrong. This has nothing to do with transphobia. This is plain criminal.
Someone who dresses up as a woman because they want to and itās who they are is fine.
The fact that criminals are targeting the LGBTQ community to cause harm is not just harmful for the victims, but also harmful for the LGBTQ community.
Thereās a huge difference.
I respect what yāall are saying but I wonāt reply any further regarding this because this will keep going on and on.
How have I only just seen that-
Love it
