i aint never seen a story with these ethnicities its always one of them gotta be italian
But I agree. We see almost American characters. Iād love to see more European (German, French, Russian, Ukrainian, Romanian, Greek etc.) and Asian (Indonesian, Chinese, Vietnamese, Indian etc.) characters, for instance.
I meanā¦ you see some character whoās āitalianā but theyāre misrepresented everytime. One thing is if theyāre Italian American, another is European Italian. Not to mention all the stereotypesā¦
But I digress. Yes, thereās a thousand more ethnicities that deserve good representation on this app
I havenāt seen any Indigenous Australian, Torres Strait Islander, Liberian or Maori (Indigenous New Zealander) characters as of yet apart from my own and Iād like to see more Russian characters that arenāt portrayed as the bad guys.
I am Scottish and I have seen one story use Scotland as a background for their story but that was only because the author is from somewhere down in the south of Scotland. I donāt really care if they do or donāt because I can see them struggling to use our slang.
omg yes, Iām brazilian and I rarely see some stories with brazilians and when I do they are always super hot and likeā¦ not all of us are Gisele Bundchen lol and the names omg RIO IS NOT A COMMON HUMAN NAME, RIO IS A CITY!! HAHAH
Iāve actually never come across Romanian characters so thatās why I decided to write a story with the MC being Romanian.

I think a lot of ethnicities are missed because people donāt know how to make/write the characters if you know what I mean
Iām trying to include more into my new story (The mc is Spanish/French, a best friend is Chinese/Columbian, the li is Greek) because before the story is set the mcās family has travelled all over the world amongst other reasons but would this be considered as tokenism?
Iāve never seen many of these ethnicities so would love to see them feature more! Iām low-key tired of seeing white Americans everywhere. Personally, I believe itās purely out of laziness, the authors, although often from diverse backgroundsā¦ donāt want to do the research so just write basic race characters they see all over the media.
although, itās just as bad to misrepresent an ethnicity in ur story as it is to not add them in at all. Infact, when adding diversity (which u totally 100% should) itās important to look into their culture instead of just adding in badly translated American phrases from Google translate just in a different language. Bc as u begin to learn as u look into language, word order varies from the different country n part of the world, therefore, u must ask ppl who r from that country abt there language, how smth would work, what characters would regularly eat, how theyād go abt their day. Bc it all varies per culture, what Iām trying to say is that adding all these different ethnicities is vital (it gives ur story depth n texture) but adding them in is not enough, accurately representing them is also crucial!

Yeah theyāve all got relatively active parts so far with them being a bsf, the li, the liās bsfs and then a lot of the people close the both of the families
