I think otherwise, it would kinda be like fan-fic, which is against the Episode guidelines.

I think there’s a bit on the Episode Content Guidelines, too.

In terms of the contest, though, I am pretty sure that the rules state that your FT entry would have to be based off a classic fairy tale or cultural folk lore, not a legend that you would make up yourself. I think a general rule for contests is also that you are not allowed to write spinoffs to an existing story, even if you made it yourself.
