Would you prefer reading a story with 10 long episodes (around 1000 lines per episode) or 20 shorter episodes (around 500 lines per episode)?
I’m writing a story, and I can’t decide on how I want to divide it all.

depends on what you find long or short
if you find 500 lines short. then it should be long
where as if 3000 lines is your short it should be short
I usually find 1000 lines as a typically lengthy episode, and 500 lines short; I’m going to rephrase my original question to clarify it better.

both of them is short in my opinion. 500 its barely a couple of minuts. i would say go for at least 1000 lines per episode

10 long episodes, It’s annoying when the episodes are short, if the story is good but has short episodes I usually stop reading it cuz I would prefer to waste my passes for something that will keep me reading for more that 10 minutes
