Would you rather have a name input or the authors own name to a character?

I like choosing my own name when I am reading an Episode. It has something . When you choose your real name you feel like they are really speaking to you (in my opinion).

I think when the author knows the name of the character it’s easier to come up with nicknames and other name variations.

Depends. I prefer naming myself most of the time, but have a hard time naming other characters like the love interests or family members. I’d rather have the author do that for me.

Ideally, the author would have the name(s) for me, in the event I don’t want to completely “play as myself” in the story. I don’t mind either way, though.

I personally prefer the character being named, or else I just name the character Nunya Business (if they allow last name customization).

I like it when the author chooses the name because I don’t like playing as myself. Usually the character I’m playing as is nothing like me.

I prefer the author to pick a name for the character because:

1. I never, ever play as myself.
2. I feel like the character will be more fleshed out if the author has a name picked out.

Coming from an RPG background I feel like most stories on episode don’t offer the kind of freedom and branching that I would want to fully create my own character.
