keep your laptop on an object, and maybe have a fan in front of it to cool it off, or have ac in your room or where ever you are. Im doing the same my laptop over heats as well but the portal, its fine with mine.
I’m having the same issue, it keeps giving me that “this page is using significant energy” alert too often as well.
showing on the preview?
of course I’m doing it. It helps, but it doesn’t solve the problem in the first place
Yeah, my battery is loosing bars pretty fast as well
It’s showing up whenever I open the portal, and even if I use it for a very small amount of time.
And this wasn’t happening before, so I don’t know what the issue is.
what kind of laptops yall have, just keep it on the charger.
Yeah I wasn’t sure if it was related to this, but since a couple of us are facing it, maybe it is?
macbook pro 2018
Yeah, but again, that doesn’t solve the problem in the first place. That’s just some actions to minimize the effect. Not preventing it
hm, I have hp, so I guess maybe it is a bug.
well just support a ticket as @Melani3 said, they’ll solve the issue.
Mine’s the MacBook Air. I’m submitting a support ticket now as well.
I’ll share it with you, in case I get a response first.
Thanks! Me too. I heard some authors also complained about overheating, and all of them have macbooks. So I guess that’s a specific problem for Apple users
I use the writers portal to write but I tried using the app and it wouldn’t let me create a story there
While I appreciate the effort in updating the portal, and I’m sure the features will eventually be great, right before a contest wasn’t such a great idea. I can not direct a simple overlay now. No matter what I do, or where I place it, it defaults back to the same location. What are we supposed to do? Remove overlays from our contest entries? I certainly hope you will consider extending the deadline for the contest. Is this a common problem? By the way, I have this issue using both Firefox, and Chrome, on both my iMac and my Windows machine. @Liz @Melani3
I havent had a functional problem with the story previewer and I like how easy it is to use.
Same here!
I am also having a problem with overlays, but I can’t see them at all now. Also backgrounds are just black((
I’m having this problem, too.
This update really needed more testing before it was re-released…
Thanks for the update! I am having trouble using Spot Directing though. Whenever I click on it, the previewer always freezes up. Is anyone else having this problem?
Update: It fixed itself a few minutes after my initial post.
Update2: Nevermind- it’s doing it again
