Some useful threads to start
Hiiiii . I’m RudeInception and today we will be discussing Spot Directing. This method will allow you to move/place your character wherever you want to on the screen. Here we go:
Spot directing is made easier when using the Episode app for help. The following image will serve as reference:

Taken from my story: LOBITA
When you open the app to preview your story, you’ll want to click on Yellow and then click Red.
Blue is used to switch characters.
White toggles bet…

When to use @, &, or #
at-sign @
@ is used to make a command happen.
When using @, the next command will not start until the current command has finished playing through.
@GIRL enters from left to screen center
@BOY enters from left to screen right
In the above sequence, the BOY character will not enter the scene until the GIRL character has finished entering.
ampersand &

Welcome
The generic command for panning to a different zone:
@pan to zone # in S
Legend:
#= a number (the zone number)
S = a number (the time, in seconds)
If no “in S” is mentioned, the default speed of the pan is 2 seconds.
An example:
@pan to zone 2 in 3
This means the camera will pan (slide) to zone 2 from the current zone it’s in, and this pan will last 3 seconds.
It doesn’t have to be three seconds. It can be any number of seconds you want it t…
I know it’s simple but sometimes people do struggle with this. I’m going to use an example using two options within a choice.
Here I go, using an example talking about which band is your favorite:
NARR
So what’s your favorite band?
choice
“My Chemical Romance”{
YOU
It’s MCR.
}“Motionless in White”{
YOU
It’s MIW.
}
NARR
Cool!
To break it down =
So what you first do is include dialogue before a choice. You need to have a character think/say something or have the narrator speak before…
Code for it:
@CHARACTER enters from SIDE to POSITION
SIDE: left, right
POSITION:
Example using code:
@YOU enters from left to screen center
Another example, adding time (the S stands for a number, in seconds):
@CHARACTER enters from SIDE to POSITION in S
@YOU enters from left to screen center in 2
Another Example adding a walking animation:
@CHARACTER enters from SIDE to POSITION AND CHARACTER does it while walking_animation
@YOU enters from left to screen center AND YOU does it whi…
Hey there, I’m going to talk about labels and gotos!
A goto leads to a label that it shares the same name with. For example goto friend would lead to label friend. You can have duplicate gotos within an episode that all share the same name but you can’t have duplicate labels in an episode. This can be seen with a customization template; for example, when you’re getting your hair customized and choosing from short hair styles, all the gotos share the same name and will…
Doing a rear animation and facing a direction:
When it comes to a rear animation, it’s the opposite. So if the character’s back is facing the reader and they’re facing towards the left, the rear animation and right direction is used. If their back is facing the reader and they’re facing the right, a rear animation with the left direction is used.
Here’s an example:
@JEMU776 stands screen center
@JEMU776 faces left AND JEMU776 is rear
This translates into:
[facing%20left%20and%20rear%2001…
