Yelled out in the class that there's no equality

Hi!

As you can read in the title… yes I did it in the class when we talked about Aten and the democracy and the teacher asked me if that worked today and I said we still have the ancient democracy from Aten with men having a higher stand in the world than women do, they have more salary and power!

Guess what the teacher did? He thought that I did good and said that I will get a better grade

Has something like that happened to you? or is it just me… :joy:

I can’t relate because I have extremely bad anxiety but I do look up to people like you because you aren’t really afraid to speak your mind. So that’s a cool thing you did right there

Thanks and I understand that It can be hard but it’s not always good either to speak up because you can get in trouble

If you are speaking up about an important matter and as long as you feel confident and proud of what you are saying that’s amazing.

I’m glad to hear it! And I’m glad you have a good teacher who understands and doesn’t have alternative views.

Good for u!

… I guess when I was 13 after being followed to school and stalked on a regular basis by this guy, I remember when he came closer kicking him and running to school. My male form tutor tried to convince me and the nurse that it was my long lacrosse socks and short skirt that was the issue. ‘What does she expect?’ I remember him saying. I filed a complaint and he was suspended for a while for sexism against me and for shaming me.

To answer your question, no that’s never happened to me, in a good way. I’m not someone who likes to speak in class and whenever I do, I’m always forsaken with the worst teachers.

My uni lecturer belittled me for my group presentation where we had to speak about what health means to us and what we should do (personally) to be healthy and we said going to doctors and apparently as us student nurses aren’t allowed to praise doctors?? According to him. He literally made me repeat back to him in class: ‘we are nursessss, we are nurses’ :sob: Oh well!

I’m so happy you had a positive experience, and I wish you all the best in your classes! Continue to speak your mind love! That’s the best thing ever

Wow that’s so strong of you to do

I’m so sorry to hear that. I’m glad that little ---- got suspended although I think being removed and fired would of been the best option as he is endangering a student by downplaying a serious situation. I’m glad you filed a complaint hun!

Omg I’m so sorry that happened to you and at that young age! The whole thing is so gross I can’t even :sob:

Personally, I never had incidents of the sort (thankfully) and even at school all teachers were pretty chill about it. I can’t say if I was lucky, because this should be the norm. Then again, my whole life I did go to schools with predominantly female students and teachers, maybe it was that :woman_shrugging:t3:

This happens in Italy too, idk why but apparently both nurses and doctors have a pride to defend and they’re often ‘enemies’ or opposites?? You’d think there shouldn’t be two professions happy and willing to cooperate more than them, but here we are

Mad respect to both docs and nurses and future ones :pray:t2:

I have no idea why they do this. Like we both need to help each other out… :slightly_frowning_face: And thank you!

That’s absolutely horrible. ur not weak and ur race doesn’t show anything abt ur personality/role & nor does ur gender. u’d think in the 21st century a teacher treating their small children differently bc of race wouldn’t b an issue, but yet here we r. ): I’m rlly sry this happened to u.

This is horrible. I’m so saddened to hear this, no one should ever have to go through this. Just know that the teacher himself had his own insecurities and he projected those on you. You’re not lazy and skin colour doesn’t determine anything. You’re not anything he has said about you.

Some people don’t deserve to be teachers and these teachers don’t even deserve the title. Unfortunately, a lot of people go into teaching and other professions like that because they think it’s easy. I know that this has left a traumatic memory and I do understand, just know that you’re so much more. You’re a fantastic human and no matter what they’ve said to you, don’t pay it no mind. It’s just how they’ve felt inside about themselves. They’re bullies and felt insecure and to pick on children?

As for your boss. He has his head far up, and as annoying as it is, my best advice would be to smile and question his ideology. Trust me, people who are like that hate having to explain themselves and you’ll have the upper hand in the argument. But never do anything that will put you in danger or put your mental health at risk. Sometimes it’s best to remove yourself from the situation and just leave it as it is. You know you’re right, you know that they’re just idiots who are stuck in time, there isn’t much you can do about it. Let him live that miserable life, karma will come and bite him back. Please don’t stress too much with him and his stupid mindset, don’t risk your mental health for some stuck up little baby that probably still needs his mama to feed and wash him because he likes that baby life.

Sometimes it’s best to leave the conversation. Not because you have no arguments, not because they’re right, but because you cannot argue with people like him and its never worth your mental health, not one bit. You’re not weak, you’re strong. It takes A LOT of strengths to leave conversations like that, so well done. You did the right thing, he’s not someone you can change their mindset overnight. Don’t stress yourself over an imbecile like you
