I think that this is the right category to put it in. I’m writing a story with lots of POC characters and I would like to know your experiences and perhaps talk about your culture, etc. I’m an arab teen that was born and lived in Venezuela, then moved to Canada. I can only speak on my experience though. Let me know if there is also any mistakes that many authors make regarding this subject so I make sure I don’t repeat those mistakes! Also, you could speak about your experience as a (example) black LGBTQ+ member!

Like how many POC characters? maybe around 75% of them.

Experiences would also depend on where your story takes place.

Hm, okay, now you need to choose countries for POC. You have USA, that’s one, what other countries do you want your characters to be from? Now, you will have to get help on how to write your characters from different countries by authors who are from that country.

Like A black person? Which POC?
I’ve already chosen them, I just want a general opinion from anyone who is a person of a color. From what I can remember, I have characters who are from Japan, Jamaica, Chile (also First Nation), Pakistan, Syria, Somalia and China.

This isn’t just for my episode story, I want to hear about people’s experiences.
Im American black so I dont know about another person’s culture. But, just don’t try to create the common stereotypes when making a black person

Yeah, we’re going to need authors from these countries to talk on this thread.
This is a small thing but since POC means “person/persons/people of color” saying POC characters is saying “person of color characters.” You would just say “characters of color.” I see people making this mistake a lot so I wanted to let you know :))
