No one is gatekeeping. All we are saying is that Tory says in the original post that they are looking for stories that would fit with the OV shelves, and that there isn’t a specific shelf for growing up differently.
As I said in my post, you are welcome to write and enter whatever you want. I’m not sure if you would consider your socialization struggles to be mental health issues, or if maybe you’ve experienced some other mental health issues growing up the way you did, but if so Tory has repeatedly stated that stories about mental health struggles do meet the requirements. I would focus in on that, with your characters learning to adjust to the outside world and exploring the possibilities of their futures as your plot and you’ll be fine.
