I sincerely doubt Episode would remove one of it’s styles without announcing it, especially considering that they’ve always stated something similar to this:

I know before this that lots of INK authors were having issues with the writer’s portal — they still might be having issues — I was designing characters in LimeLight and the page had to reload several times before I was finished.
I think the best thing to do is to submit a ticket and let them know about the portal problems. That way if it is a portal issue they can try to fix it and if they really are retiring classic it’ll push them to make an announcement.
